Marinated and Grilled Orange Chicken

  • frankieanne 9 years ago
Another chicken recipe from Pat! (Pleclare)
    Marinated And Grilled Orange Chicken
This was super tasty. I really loved it. I had boneless, skinless thighs and they got a tad burnt but I kinda like that burnt chicken crunchy stuff. Use breasts or some other cut that doesn't take too long to cook because the honey does burn. I served these up with Salty Balls Maui Style From Ddd and they went really well together.
    I'm stuffed.
    :-P

Yay I can have this on Paleo! It looks like your marinade really stuck to that chicken, it's such a beautiful color!

Thanks, Ml2c. It got a bit thick during the 10 minute simmer but even thicker because I put it in the refrigerator to cool. I transferred it to a 4 cup measuring cup and kept stirring every few minutes to cool it down. So, it got a bit syrupy. Really good stuff.
I read about that Paleo diet and could never do it. I hate feeling like I am depriving myself of something I want. I would much rather get on the exercise bike for an hour a day and then eat (in moderation) what I want. But, I suppose that is easier to do for single people like me. Good luck!

Pretty chicken. Very nice recipe of Pat's. I like a marinade that gets thick and sticks.

It does get nice and thick, Tina. I think putting it in the refrigerator helps with that, too. Thank you. :)

Hey Frankie I just noticed your comment back from 5 days ago! Paleo has been super easy for me, even the hubs is following it (for now anyway). It's just clean eating of a ton of meat, veggies and sweet potatoes, and stay away from anything that has ingredients that you can't read. I have been strict on it for 3 1/2 weeks but I had to kinda cheat today lol.

This marinade stuck to the chicken like glue. We loved it! I replaced the red pepper flakes with chili powder for the kiddos palate. Uggghh.. I had no sunlight and could not get a good pic. gave up and ate :)

Yeah, that stuff is good! I know what you mean about the light. I find myself eating early on the weekends just to get my pictures! :)

Ugghh if the kids didn't have sports and dance stuff going on during week nights I would definitely have dinner ready before dark! Oh well, time change is in a couple days then I don't think any of us will be able to catch the light :)
