My Posting Rules, AIIM

  • lovebreezy 11 years ago
I love the way we NOW post in this group.
Trying find an old review for a recipe (before we started adding the IMI link on the recipe itself) is a bit of a chore. If the title of the thread does not include BOTH the title of the recipe and the chef, one may never find what they're looking for.
Many of the early treads/reviews were just titled something like "Tried This" or "Made These Two” or "Here's One of ____'s That I Made". You just don't know what they are unless you open everyone up. There are almost 300 threads in this group and if you want to spend the time to find a specific one, it really is helpful if the poster lists both of these in the title.
So to whoever first started using the name of the recipe in the title, I thank you.
There, I’ve said my bit. So don’t color outside the lines or you’ll just drive me crazy. :-)

Hey, Lovebreezy. I'm happy you enjoy IMI and actively participate. I love this group and think its very useful. PSO was the first one who started linking recipes back to IMI and I think it was a brilliant idea (thanks, PSO!). I wish we had more people participate in this group but we have a wonderful bunch who do! I think summer makes people a bit more busy. I know it does me. Thanks again.

When the Big Change happened here it fixed a lot of stuff but I feel it kinda killed a lot of the groups. Since recipes can no longer be added OR requested to be added to groups, they don't grow. This group had a way around that with our REVIEWS page like the Refugees group has their REFUGEES RECIPE LISTING page. I'm loving this group and my thanks to P7O too.

Thanks LB, I feel the same way. If the thread doesn't contain the name (or at least refer to what the recipe actually IS) of the recipe I rarely even open it. You have no way of knowing if it's something you are interested in or not. : )

Ha Keni, you're one of those that colors outside the lines.
But I do have to say, you are always there to help others out so including the title in your posts would be just another helpful mitzvah on your part.

Yeah.... but I don't like to do things the way everybody else does... I figure if anyone is interested in what I have to say, they will read it... and, if not... they will move on.

Or, maybe I am just practicing for when we get back the ability to at least request recipes be added to a group without owning them..then it won't matter as much cus the recipe listing will be a lil more complete.....maybe I'm part rebel and part dreamer... hehehehe

As for being helpful... that's different.... I get paid to do that.... wait.... ummmm..... okay, so its more of a volunteer position....

Oh, and bite your tongue.... I ALWAYS color inside the lines... my OCD would take over if I even tried not to! Hehehehe

lol I don't like to do thing the way everyone else does, normally....it goes against every fiber of my being. lol But, I figure I'm not the only one using this site, and everyone uses it differently and has different amounts of time to spend...so I just do what seems most helpful, since that's the intention of the group. : ) Maybe I am slipping into conformity in my old age....say it ain't so!! : )

I'm with you, Sparow.....anything to make it more helpful for this group to be successful. I for one thank you, Frankieanne for taking on the task of keeping this group going. I don't participate here as often as I'd like but that doesn't mean I don't come here and read what's being made and what others have to say about it...So I'm definitely for what's easy and most helpful for Frankieanne to maintain the group for us all. Again, thanks so much, Frankieanne!!
