Recipe by Luisascatering: Panko Breaded Onion Rings/saved
Nice O-rings. Has a sweet taste to it. Cooks very fast.
Buttermilk batter and bread crumbs are not enough.
I would triple them next time.
    Photo a little fuzzy.
I don't normally deep fry stuff but mother put in a request.
Used grapeseed oil because of the high smoke point.
    Homemade bread crumbs too.

Mother liked them but ate the breading off the onions saying the onions weren't done enough. I'll make another batch with more dwell time in the oil hoping the breading doesn't get too dark.
ITMT I'll filter the oil and let the new batch set in the egg mixture overnight.

Darker batch. Onions are more done than the first. We'll see when mother gets home. Added pic.
Coffee filter in a steel mesh screen cleans up the oil well.
Now on to a different O-ring recipe.

Second batch was a little crunchy to my gums but still too delicious. A night in the fridge and everything softened up. These are great cold too. Love the sweet taste from the onion.

What does one usually coat onions with for onion rings? I have never made them so I guess I've never thought about it! They look crunchy!
