This recipe speaks for itself. I don't know when they recipe originated, but I know that I have it in an old charity cook book from the 1950s.

"This is such a nostalgic recipe and nothing can compare to this original version. It’s been a long standing favorite and is beloved by generations both young and old. This cookie is a must on every holiday tray. Out of all the Christmas cookies I make, this is the most complimented and appreciated."

Beautiful photo, DIZ3! I haven't made these cookies in a few years, but this is exactly the recipe I have, too. It's one of those perennial favorites that I've had forever, but don't remember where I got it. Do you think it would be OK to post a review even if I haven't made them lately?

Thank you for adding your beautiful picture to the recipe! I appreciate it. Yes, this is definitely an old timer. My grandmother gave the recipe to me, I think. Nearly everyone's grandmother has passed this one along, I suppose. :-)

Beautiful pic! I didn't know this was an old recipe, I only heard of them about 8 yrs ago! Did they have Hersey's kisses back then? I love old recipes that stand the test of time :)

Thanks Everyone! I just looked up Hersey's chocolate kisses and it says they were introduced by Hersey in 1907. A timeless creation for sure. And for an additional bit of trivia, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup came out in 1928. What did we ever do before "google?" lol!
