    Delicious Creamed Cabbage With Bacon

    I fixed this as a sided dish for our St. Patrick's day corned beef dinner. A very reliable and easy way to fix cabbage that is just a bit different. For entertaining, this recipe is perfect because you can preprep the ingredients ahead of time and even cook the recipe early so the cabbage smell can escape the house before guests arrive.

    A did make a few small alterations. Noticeable in the photo I posted was the addition of shredded carrot. Carrot and cabbage are steady dates if not married in my opinion. The color the carrot adds makes it pleasing to look at. I like spices and added nutmeg and a spritz of cayenne along with salt. I felt that the sweetness of the carrot called for a balance with a bit of acid so added 1 tablespoon of mild rice vinegar.

    The dish is a success and I recommend it. I will be making it again.
