Slap Your Mama Texas Chili

Recipe by Txbackyardcook: Slap Your Mama Texas Chili
This is slap the cook chili!..................for making it too salty, too greasy, and too much heat.
It could be a good chili if one were to drain the fat after cooking the meat.
The chorrizo, sausage, and pork all have salt in them. I suggest taste testing this concoction before adding any additional salt.
Would also suggest using a little vegetable juice to make this more than thinly coated meat chunks. Or maybe a can or two more tomato sauce.
Watch adding the spices. I would start with much less than the recipe spec's then tweak it up from there. Chili must have flavor that is not overshadowed by spiciness.
I used the zinfandel instead of beer.
I had such high hopes for this dish. Mother had requested a chili without beans.
Used two Jalapeno peppers, seeded and deveined.
Try as I might, I couldn't taste any of the 1 Tbsp of green onion and bell pepper. Either leave them out or add more.

I see this recipe has already been bookmarked by the reviews profile. Disregard the email.

Just let this chill in the fridge overnight. It tastes the same as fresh off the stove. No kind of improvement. Suggest not wasting the refrigerator space.

Geez, that's a lot of meat. That's over five pounds worth! Strange instructions, too. The ingredients look odd to me. A lot of alcohol and a lot of meat. Seems really lopsided (for lack of a better word). That's a terrible shame it wasn't good with all that meat in it.

Thing that really bothers me is the over a dozen 5-star ratings this recipe received. I couldn't do over a 3-star rating without a good overhaul of the recipe.
