Sourdough Steak

    Recipe by Mark555: Sourdough Steak
AKA Chicken Fried Steak. It's a little thick at 1/2". Would do it thinner next time. Used a London Broil cut of round steak. A little chewy at 1/2" even though I beat the hooves off of that cut. I'm thinking next time to go with cube steak. It's cheaper, although not by much, and all of the work is already done.
Three minutes on a side in the hot shortening.
Sourdough gave it good flavor but I think the seasoning is pretty much wasted in the breading flour. I'll rub the seasoning right into the meat next time.
Didn't take the time to make gravy. My dinner bell was going off and another 15 minutes was just intolerable.
Two minutes a side would have been better for the breading color but for that to happen the steaks would have to be thinner.
Plated with green beans and rice. Gravy would have been nice.

Interesting. He's also the member with this one
    Sourdough Chicken Fried Chicken
that we both made. I loved that one. At least its a different way to use some sourdough starter. Looks like a good dinner!
