Ingredients
  • 1 inch thick round steak (about 3 lb)
  • 1 Cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp onion salt
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Cup Sourdough starter (use one of the 1000s that are posted or see my earlier posting)
  • 3/4 Cup lard or shortening

Directions
  1. Using a meat tenderizing mallet or knife (or my favorite a 5 lb dumb bell)
  2. Pound the steak to 1/2 inch thick
  3. Cut into serving pieces
  4. Combine flour and seasonings
  5. Dip in Sourdough starter, then in flour mixture
  6. Fry in 1-inch of hot fat in a heavy skillet
