I like anything teriyaki so it's no surprise that I loved this. I was worried about the ginger because too much can really turn me off, but this was perfect. I highly recommend following the recipe and using low sodium soy sauce. I only had regular and it turned out really salty, but once it was mixed with the rice and broccoli it was o.k. However, low sodium soy sauce is now on my shopping list. Here's my reivew:

"This was so good and not at all what I was expecting. I really anticipated something sweet, but that wasn’t the case at all. Instead, it had a beautifully flavored brown sauce and the amount of ginger was just right. The only thing I did different was thicken the sauce with a little cornstarch that I dissolved in water. I added that just a few minutes prior to serving. Served over rice and broccoli. Thanks, NadineM for sharing one of your great recipes."

Thank you so much for trying the recipe. Still have a big smile on my face. Love the tweak for thickening up the sauce.

Wow, your picture is gorgeous! I'm not a big ginger fan myself so good to know it isn't too much.

Thanks everyone! Frankieanne, the first time I used fresh ginger, it overpowered the dish so much that we couldn't eat it. Since that time, DH and I have had a difficult time with ginger. Even in favorite baked good recipes that call for it. I've either had to omit it or just use a scant amount. Lately I've been adding more and more to recipes, but I still have to be careful because DH has not gotten over the bad experience.
