I thought it would be interesting for us to place our leftover recipes where we create something new from something already cooked....I noticed I am being more creative and have already shared several recipes that do just that - use food cooked from the night before and turning it into a new dish.

Please share with us your stories, leftover secrets and even your funny leftover stories....

This is great.. I am amazed at the people who say they don't eat leftovers! I am one of those who will cook extra to have the left overs... When we grill steak, I do extra then the next day.. I can have it on a salad.. Same with salmon. I use left over chicken in chow mien.. I freeze left over bits of veggies then make a pot of veggie soup.. I am so tight I squeak! LOL

Tell my family that Pleclare! I buy the chicken breast with the bones.. bone myself and boil the bones for stock... !!!! Let me tell you, in the past few months, I am glad I know how to do that kind of stuff!

When living up north, we had a friend who had a take out that was open only in the summer... he par-boiled all his own chicken to batter fry... I was there one day and he was taking GALLONS and poring it out to kill poison ivy! I made a deal with him... I took my huge pressure cooker and he would put in that I would screw the lid on .. take it home and freeze flat .. All winter we would enjoy such wonderful chicken soup! We went down after the freeze there and got rid of the ivy for him! Now that is a deal!

This is a good idea. Just yesterday I was wondering what to do with some leftover beef short ribs that we had put on the grill a couple nights ago. I sliced them thin and then simmered in a bbq sauce/cola mixture, made a great sandwich!

I'm with Linebb956 on the leftovers. I love to make more than I need so that I can relax on another day and not have to cook when I'm in a hurry.

Can't wait to try out the Leftover recipes!
