A Toast to Tuesday!

Good Morning Everyone! Raising my cup of coffee up for an early morning Toast To Tuesday! :)
Nice morning out there. Bright blue sky and sunshine. Cold though and the snow that we do have has a thick crust of ice on it!
Having a girlfriend out for lunch today. Making
    Copycat Sizzler Malibu Chicken
and repeating the salad from yesterday with the La Feria sauce. (It makes A LOT!)
Not sure what I'll have for dinner. And Benjamin is heading in to attend an Italian Movie Night so will grab dinner in town.
Pic below is my current table setting. Snowman theme! :) Pic in my Avatar is the flowers that my Girlfriend brought me yesterday when she came for lunch. I'm sure I've said it before but I'll say it again "It just Rocks to have a Florist as a Girlfriend!". :)
Good Luck to Joce today with her tests.
Saw your Party pictures on FB Laurie. I've never done hooka before. Is it weird? Lebanese food would by yummy! As would your Kaluha cake!
Sorry to hear Fred's meds are mixed up Tina. That causes such havoc with a person! Your Boston Butt sounds AMAZING! Congrats to Liv on her 14 lb. loss and to you my friend with 19. You are doing a fantastic job. Go Tina!
To everyone else, have a most lovely Tuesday! Time for my breakfast in front of "Dinner Party Wars". :)

Janet, I love the table setting, It is awesome. Nice flowers too.

The house smells great. I can't quite face eating Braised pork for breakfast, but I'm going to chill it down and defat the sauce to reheat later for supper. Going to make Fred's favorite glazed carrots with dill as a side and low and behold, Liv has asked me to make a quinoa mushroom pilaf. She has been pinning and all the good comments about quinoa has changed her mind. Yippeee!

I'm so tired I can barely see straight. I have to get oxygen today. So some phone work is called for.

Janet, I like your theory about using the credit card to scrape the wind shields, however, the people who called were college age and I think it was snowball fights and snow angels that claimed the cards. One mom was aghast, she called to report her daughter's card stolen because there was a 60.00 charge to Dunkin Donuts..."she is a skinny girl, there is no way that is her charge?" I asked "Isn't it finals week? Could she have bought her dorm coffee to study?" Mom texted her daughter and yes, dear, your daughter used Mom's card to buy coffee for all of her study buddies. I had to laugh.

I'm making cookies tomorrow, I just have to cull the list and determine which ones I will make.

Have a great day dear ones......best wishes to Joce today.
May the season be Merry and Bright! We have rain coming.

    For our Wellington lovers.....Salmon Wellington

Thanks for the reminder Michelle. I have always wanted to make a real Beef Wellington.

Thinking of you today Joce...I also wanted to thank you for the link for the chicken wellington, it looks absolutely delicious!

Love, love, love your table Janet! So festive! Have fun with your GF today, and be careful on the icy roads...

Tina, don't you just love having dinner in the crock pot?
We used to use cassette tape cases to scrape ice. I just could never find my ice scraper! At least now I have a garage to park in so no more ice on the windshield worries:)

Dinner will be decided later..going grocery shopping in Chico this morning....

    Good Morning!

Janet, your table looks fantastic! I love it!! Wish I was good at stuff like that. Enjoy your lunch with another friend today! Aren't you the social butterfly! : ) I really DO have to make some of that sauce.

LOLOL Laura...that's a line I have actually heard from Bryan. Although, he would eat it if I made it, I'd here "Have you ever heard me order.....in a reastaurant?" To which I say we aren't in a restaurant, and I cook lots of things that I never order in restaurants. THEN, as if I'm not smart enough to notice a bad reaction to some new dish, I get to hear "For future reference don't make......again". Whatever. lol

Oh Tina. Hope you and Fred get all straightened out sooner instead of later!!! And that you find a new oxygen provider quickly. Bless your heart on being all topsy turvy. LOL at the Dunkin Donuts charge...that's funny.

Marie, hope you have good luck with the grocery shopping.

Good luck with your tests today, Joce.

I want to stay home and make Christmas cookies. I need to decide what goodies I will make for the party. Wonder when I'm actually going to DO that? lol

The IT guys at corporate have had me (and every other receptionist in the company) on a wild goose chase this morning. They decided to switch us to Pitney Bowes from Stamps.com for our postage. At 9 am dude calls and wants me to unhook all the stuff from stamsp.com and hook up the new stuff. The new stuff is huge. I have to totally rearrange my desk as cords are not long enough to reach the computer from where I WANT this monstrosity to sit. THEN...we find out we don't have to use it til Jan, and I need to unhook it and hook the other stuff back up. *Sigh* Ok...well...I understand testing early. THEN...there is no ink with the new printer. The printer comes with this huge roll of labels that you would use for shipping labels...not stamps. So, I'm trying to explain this to the IT guy...we don't need shipping labels. Ever. He says "you print postage from the website, just like stamps.com; that is for labels". WELL, GENIUS...YOU HAVE TO PRINT THE POSTAGE ON SOMETHING!!!! lol And, that something is called labels. *rolling eyes* So, the VP of stuff like this, who made this decision, is out today. I look through the Pitney Bowes site...and OMG...he got us thermal printers. Never need ink or toner. Cool. BUT...the single roll labels that you would use if you needed to print a single stamp...are a couple hundred bucks a roll, and they fit a different printer than what they sent us!!! DL is out today too...you can bet she is NOT going to be happy if she has to add that much cost to postage. We are always teasing about our IT guys making big salaries to say "did you restart?". I sure hope they did better research than this before they signed that contract, and that we can get cheap, single roll labels to print stamps on. We can print on sheets, too...but...the sheets would all have the same value, like for letters or postcards that are all the same. If we have to weigh something, and only need one stamp that value, we need to print a single stamp.
Whil I had all this crap all over my desk, a client comes in to have me copy her tax returns etc, all the stuff we need for a loan. And the copier gets this huge jame that takes forever for me to track down and clear out.
OY VEY. Can I get a margarita at lunch? Please?

    LOL

Janet, Lovely flowers and table center arrangement indeed. It is cold out there! After the flash freeze last night we had to take my car this morning b/c Den's doors were all frozen shut! I hope you enjoy your lunch with your friend that recipe of Frankie' is always a winner.

Tina, After not eating anything for way way over twenty four hours! I could totally nosh on some pork chops right now and then a little bit of everything you are planning. LOL the Dunkin Doughnut is too funny! I hope you can get in some much needed rest on your days off too!

Marie, You are very welcome and have fun grocery shopping today.

Lori, Holy Toledo! What a wacky day you have had so far! LOL I have used Pitney Bowes and it is simple to use. They are making things so wildly complicated for you today. I hope all your quandaries are fixed pretty soon! Yes do have a few Margaritas.:-)

Thank you so much for all your kind thoughts.:-)
I just got back from the Hospital and everything went well. The doctor didn't see any problems in that region so that is good news, but I am still like Dahlia with no explanation as to why I go through all this other pain and stuff every day! I have to eat light stuff today I guess b/c of the anesthetic? So I will just nibble away today. I am still feeling a bit groggy.

Hey everyone make it a good day!

The hookah was interesting, i don't really get the whole thing. they put a flavored disc of tabacco on the top ( she had them everywhere, since her husband sells them) and then you puff in but don't inhale. She had orange, blueberry, and at least 3 others last night.
tonight is Rebecca's corus concert, Frank has to work late so its just me and Rachel going.
Tonights dinner is roasted chicken and potatoes.

I even remember from the Hardware store what a pain a) switching equipment around was....and like you say, you can never properly access the cables, and whenever I needed to reach something it was always in the FARTHEST, DIRTIEST, DUSTIEST, spot behind a desk and filing cabinet that were next to impossible to move. And dealing with Pitney Bowes or photo-copier companies, ugh. It's a headache. All the power and patience to you Lori! I feel for you. Sending you a double Marguerita over straight away! :)
Hey Joce! Great to see you. Yes, it's like a skating rink out my front door. Frozen solid block of ice! So glad your tests went well and I am sorry that they weren't able to figure out the cause of your pain. Are they still actively working to seek a solution or are they shrugging their shoulders? I did try to put a picture of the La Feria sauce up but when I went to do it it's almost as if the picture posting spot 'repelled' my file. It was weird. I'll try again in a second but for whatever reason it wouldn't allow me to do it.
Is it actually tobacco that is used Laurie? I thought perhaps it was just some sort of fruit smoke thing. LOL. They are becoming more popular and I see Hookah places on occasion, both here in Ottawa and in Sunnyvale. Benjamin tried it a few years ago in Montreal and thought it was neat. Like I say, I've never tried it myself. Have fun at Becca's concert. I miss going to things like that. Yum on the Roasted Chicken.
My girlfriend ADORED the Malibu Chicken and the salad. Had second helpings and everything. We had a lovely visit and a good chat.

Rick will make Yakisoba for dinner...

Hi Joce, so glad all went well..I can hardly wait to try the chicken wellington recipe you found for me...I'll make it for a special meal during the HOLIDAYS:)

Hi Lori, we used Pitney Bowes postage meter at my last job..isn't it amazing all the crap you have to go thru for postage (I was going to say frickin postage, but thought I'd be pleasant today:D) I miss the good old days, buy stamps at the Post Office, lick and stick..LOL You will be needing a drink when you get home..funny, since I've been unemployed, I hardly drink anymore..what does that tell ya?

    Hi Laurie:)

Janet, you know what is really good on the Malibu Chicken> A little prepared (regular yellow) mustard...I LOVE IT:)

What's Yakisoba Marie? A noodle dish? Sounds good. :) Thanks for the mustard tip. I bet that would be good.
Joce, I was able to post the pic of the La Feria sauce today so there you go.
Just eating leftovers up from lunch for my dinner. It's getting colder and colder out there. The ceiling beams/joists? are making a cracking sound and making me jump. :)

We watched Dark Shadows with Johnny Depp. It was 'okay" very campy and soap operish. Fabulous special effects.

All are stuffed with pork and carrots. Good recipe from Bon Appetit. A keeper.
I can barely keep my eyes open.

Hope all have a good evening. i am still debating cookies with what I have in the pantry. Walnuts, dates, molasses, peanut butter, chocolate chips, candied ginger dried cranberries, pecans, almonds, brown sugar, a yellow cake mix, a pound cake mix. I'm thinking cheaters biscotti with the cake mix using the dried cranberries, candied ginger and almonds. A spiced rum and pecan cookie with the pound cake mix. Ginger and date cookies, soft style. No bake hay stacks That will take all day. And Fred wants to shop. Oh vey!

I miss going to the shows that featured the kid's. I loved their performances and it was just nice to see them accomplish so much on their own, All kids deserve a chance to shine in the spotlight.

Our weather is damp. I have my oxygen!!! They delivered at 7 pm. Yeah!
    Sleep Sweet!!
