Fourth Day Sunday

  • sparow64 13 years ago
    Good Morning!

Well...today is the 4th day of our 4 day weekend! Back to reality...lol

Loved all the restaurant menus posted yesterday. Everything sounded so good...and I could totally go for your steak dinner, Janet!

Kimmer, so sorry to hear about your knee. I KNOW that I couldn't have put my own back in place. I'm a wimp. Hope you are feeling better. Love that Cayce baked the pies! lol on hurting yourself every year.

Love the pic of Fred, Tina! The pool sounds gorgeous. Can't wait to see pix.

Brooke, I missed the purse avatar! Looks like jewelry now? You are my hero! woohoo on the deals for your son!

Janet, woohoo on driving yourself to the store!!

Well...I already can't remember everything I read from yesterday...geeez. Don't mean to leave anyone out! Hope you all have a fantastic day!

Had a successful Christmas shop yesterday. Hil is almost done, just a couple of small things and stocking stuffers to go. She is going to be totally surprised. Got her the coat she wanted at American Eagle, which she will not be expecting. The price was less than I thought, and they had 40% of your entire purchase. Got her the coat and some artist jeans, her faves, that I won't usually pay the price for. Mom always took her on a back-to-school spree for clothes, and got her 2 pair her sr. year. She is still pouring herself into those, even though she's not that size anymore...the child needs clothes! lol Found 50-70% off everything in Aeropostale, which is also an unusual sale before Christmas, and found her a top and cami in there. Glad I went. Found a few other deals. Was surprised at the crowds, no more busy than any other Saturday, and I got front row parking most places!

Not sure about dinner, I'm not sure what I'm craving. Bryan still sick, we are thinking it may be flu instead of allergies, he started body aches night before last. : (

Glad you all enjoyed the 21c link. lol I was also going to post one to The Brown Hotel...that's the one where big money stays...you can get a one nighter that's a splurge, but then they have 2 night deals over $1000!
    http://www.brownhotel.com/kentucky-luxury-resorts.htm
That's where I wanted to go for a Hot Brown.

Pix are from a couple of years ago, snow in the Smoky Mtns.

Laura, how was the 2nd Thanksgiving dinner?
    Spinach, Artichoke, Mushroom Casserole
looks fabulous! Did you try the relish?

Corinne, I'm glad Thanksgiving was a hit. Pizza, huh? You and Ang have me craving that now. lol

Laurie, I don't envy you these long retail days. It definately takes a toll on the feet and legs. LOL on popcorn for dinner. I want popcorn!

So what are you up to today, Joce?

Are you making swags, Janet? Sounds gorgeous. Wish I was that artistic.

Tina I love that you are flying your sister home for a Christmas visit, what an awesome surprise!

Good Morning, Lori.....Sounds like you hit the jackpot on your shopping trip yesterday. I'm sure Hil will be thrilled with her gifts. What girl doesn't like clothes?? Sorry to hear Bryan's feeling under the weather. Hope he's up and at it soon.
Haven't read through yesterdays posts yet but I'll try to catch up today.
Les has an opportunity for a new job he's considering. The first farm he worked at when we moved here was kinda like a condo of farms if you will. There were about 30 barns over 150 acres with a race track for all to use. Different people rented out different parts of the farm with a board that took care of all the maintenance and such. Les worked for the board. I'm really hoping this makes sense!!!....Well, a couple men went out and bought 3 farms themselves and want Les to work for them in charge of maintenance. He's gonna talk to them this week to see exactly what they have to offer. Please keep your fingers crossed for him.
Porterhouse steaks here for supper. Not sure of sides yet but I'm thinking baked potatoes topped with broccoli and cheese.

OH Corinne!!! Fingers and toes and eyes and everything else crossed for Les. I hope that turns out to be a good opportunity for him. How is he feeling? Supper sounds great! Gonna be a rainy yucky day here...would love a grilled steak, though. Those potatoes sound really good.

Love the snowy Smoky Mtn pictures.....sent a little shiver down my spine. Nice!
Nice day of shopping for you. And you had the parking angel with you too! Lori, your day sounded lovely. Yes, you still need to try a real Hot Brown sandwich! Put it on the bucket list. LOL

"Life is a constant Advent season: we are continually waiting to become, to discover, to complete, to fulfill. Hope, struggle, fear, expectation and fulfillment are all part of our Advent experience." Anonymous

Dinner was very good except for one dish. Posted to the blog. This is a brand new offshoot of the other Thai restaurant. It wasn't even on UrbanSpoon yet. So I got to add it. That was a first and it was kind of neat to be the first to review. I would so go back for the Red Hot Chili Peppers Sushi roll. It was spicy good!!

Fred is working on the back porch again. Charlie Brown proofing the screen porch. Charlie has burst through all the screens. He is going to rescreen, but in the meantime, he is putting lattice all around to have a visual and physical barrier.

Liv is working a double today. She fell asleep mid movie, I was asking her a question and I got a gentle snore in response. Loved the last Harry Potter movie. I still cried, even though I knew what was going to happen. The scene with Snape....gets me every time.

I'm going to sort through more of the junk from the kitchen shelves and get rid of the odds and ends that I don't use anymore. More purging. Going to WallyWorld for shelf liner and a spice rack holder, a new dish drainer, stainless steel cleaner. don't have a sink, but I'll be ready when I do!! LOL

Super busy day for Fred tomorrow. The Cable guy is coming to find out why some of the TV's don't have sound or the channel freezes, there is something weird in the wiring. And then the roofer is coming to get us a quote on the aforementioned porch. We have a big puddle on the sunroom roof...not a good thing. Don't need anymore of the ceiling to collapse. The plumber is coming to put in the "scale blaster" for the house. It is the new economical and environmental way to soften hard water instead of a whole house water softener. No salt needed! Very cool invention. Made locally in Clearwater, MADE IN THE USA! Yeah.

Going to find a bottle of Cupcake Chardonnay today. I think supper al fresco is in order. It is so gorgeous....high sixties at night and mid-seventies daytime with a lovely breeze.
I'll see what is freshest at Publix and get some fish to grill or do the peel and eat shrimp. Fred can not abide the smell of cooking shrimp, so I'll see if I can do the boil outside and save him the agony. LOL A fresh salad, some crusty bread for him...as along as the grill is fired up, some grilled zucchini, onion and mushroom kabobs. Paper plates and paper towels.....no pots or dish washing.

Hugs to all to come...go make a memory.

Corinne, SP! I'm crossing my fingers, toes, eyes and legs. Good luck for Les. I hope he is feeling much better these days. Steaks and those potatoes sound delicious too.

Lori, I'm sorry Bryan is still sick....sounds like he needs some turkey soup and some sleep to get better. The flu is never ever fun.

Morning Everyone! Tina...I love the pic of Fred in your Avatar too....oh...now there's Fred and Olivia! Very nice!
Wow on the coat for Hil Lori! Awesome deals! I shop a fair amount at both Aeropostale and American Eagle for Benjamin as their guys XS fits him perfectly. Jim and I are heading out in just a few minutes to do our first 'go' at Christmas shopping too so I'm grabbing some of your good shopping vibes to take with me. :) Sorry to hear Bryan still isn't feeling well. Shall check out your links when I get back. And yes, I just came in from making seven Swags, filling my urn by the front door and decorating three barrels outside for Christmas. Not totally done but have the basics in and I'm pleased. Chopped up the remaining gourds and squash for the deer that I had in the house decorating for fall. Had two cups of coffee. I was up by 7. Actually slept for 9 1/2 hrs. Feel great.
Oh wow! What a wonderful opportunity for Les Corinne. Sending good thoughts. Your dinner sounds divine!
Like the Advent quote Tina. :) Have a good shop at Walmart. Hope you find the Chardonnay :) and am marveling at your temperatures.
I'm heading out. Jim and I are going for Dim Sum before we head to the stores. See you this aft.!
    No clue for dinner.

Aw, Corinne....that is bittersweet....sending him a virtual cake, ala Joce. I loved "A Star is Born" too. Absolutely one of my very favorites. Must have seen it 10 times at the theater and I know I wore out the 8 track of the sound track.

Good for you, Janet, on the decorating. Dim sum before shopping sounds like a grand plan. The best Dim Sum restaurant around here is in Tampa...which is out of Fred's self-imposed distance to go to a restaurant.

Cheetah is not going to come home for Christmas. She appreciated my offer to get her here, but she refused to let me spend the money on the airfare. She will come visit in February at one/half the air fare of a Christmas visit. Cousin Steve bought that ticket already and he is coming from Ohio too. So, I'm going to treat them to a dinner at her favorite place in St. Pete, with all the family. She adores the entertainer at the restaurant and it would be a good family get together all the same, just a little bit later.

Sorry Bryan is not feeling well and hope he gets better soon. Sending good vibes healing vibes to him.:-) The Hot Brown Hotel is gorgeous and I would be tempted by trying the Hot Brown Turkey how
Yummy that would be!! All the rooms look like you could just step back in time.! Wow on the Smoky Mt pics they are almost surreal.

Corinne, Sending really good luck vibes to Les he deserves it and will keep everything crossed for him.:-) Obviously they think enough of him to consider him for the job.:-) Enjoy your porter house steaks and those baked potatoes sound wonderful.:-) Happy Birthday to your son too!

Tina, Love the quote.:-) Love your avatar.:-) Hope you and Fred don't work too hard today. Great song and loved the movie. Hey, all - well 3 cheers for Staley!! My brother's team, the Staley Falcons, are officially the Class 5 Missouri High School Football State Champions. They won last night 35 to 21. We are very excited and happy for my brother and his team!
Lori, congrats on your great deals!! I found that pre-Christmas sale at Aeropostale last year, it's a great sale. Ordinarily, I only buy him those brands on consignment, but with a sale like that, I got him some brand new items. I bet she'll be very pleased with those gifts! :) I hope Bryan feels better soon! The pendants in my avatar are what I worked on last night - I made 5 in 45 minutes, not too bad! They are from the link that Corinne provided on Wednesday.
Hey, Corinne! I have everything possible crossed for Les and am thinking good thoughts for him too! :) Dinner sounds totally wonderful, send some over my way, K?
Hi Tina - glad you enjoyed your dinner last night. Hope you have a productive shop & decluttering too. Good luck to Fred on that lattice project. Sorry your sis isn't coming for Xmas, but a visit in February will be fun too!
Janet, would you please come here and do some outdoor decorating for me? That is something I can never seem to get looking right. Although no one is bothering until the landscaping is finished (which geez, may be never...). Good luck with your shopping today too.
I'm going to head out and check out some treadmill prices at a few places, but may just go with the one on Amazon (thanks for the link, Laurie!!). Also heading to the flea market to look around today. No idea what's for dinner yet....
    Have a great day everyone!

My goodness Tina! So much going on for you today! Hope you find the cupcake wine and the other things on your list. (Notice that I have my priorities in line and mentioned the wine...lol). Wow on the puddle on the roof of the sunroom...not a good place for puddles, huh? Shrimp boil with salad and crusty bread sounds yummy!!! The Max and Sams menu looks fantastic. I will take one of everything! The rock tails sound awesome!

Corinne, Happy 23rd Bday to your son! Which one?

YAY Staley Falcons! WOOOHOOOO!!! Good luck with the treadmill hunting.

    Good luck Christmas shopping, Janet!!

I would love some pot roast, Joce.

Bryan swears he doesn't have the flu...I'm not so sure. Still hasn't run any fever. Going to try and get in to see the dr tomorrow. He called in to work last night, and he's calling in again today. He's off Monday and Tuesday night, so surely he will feel better by then.

I told him I was making homemade chicken noodle soup and he swears he doesn't have the flu and doesn't want chicken soup. Geez. lol So I guess it's going to be
    Santa Fe Soup
here tonight. Rain rain go away. lol

Yeah, Staley. Hip Hip Hooray! Good luck on the treadmill shopping, Brooke. Those are very neat necklaces and wow, you can whip them up fast. How nice.

Joce, yum on pot roast. Perfect cold weather food. Got my laundry in the machine too. Gearing up for the Walmart run. The scaleblaster is neat. All the faucets and pipes in this house are caked with hard water deposits and it ruined the dishwasher, so this scaleblaster is supposed to cure that issue. Fred's plumber friend swears by them.

Santa Fe Soup sounds like a good soup anytime to me. Glad Bryan took the time off to recover from the non-flu. Bless his heart, I hope he gets up to speed soon. So happy you got such good sales too. When I worked at the mall another lifetime ago, Olivia got all Aeropostale stuff on deep discount...I got an additional 10% off for being a mall employee. Go away rain.

We have granite. We have granite. Little Justin has put in the counter tops minus the back splash. They are gorgeous. VaVaVoom. He had to recut the granite here to dryfit the industrial sink. It looks great.

WOW Tina! Justin showed up today????? Awesome! Sounds gorgeous! I know you must be beyond excited at the progress. Have fun picking out new stuff at Walmart!! I cannot wait to see the saphire pool and the kitchen...and everything else...you are going to have a brand new house, my friend. Scaleblaster sounds like a good option.

I miss my retail days discounts. You could really powershop then. lol Idk what's wrong with Bryan. Maybe upper respiratory? Just today, after all this time, things are starting to be colored instead of clear...(SORRY! TMI). Headache, bodyache, stuffed head, dry tickly hacking cough, (he says chest feels congested, but he only sounds like his head is), and now he says he's burning up hot. (he's wearing pj shorts and tshirt). It's not hot in here, at all. No fever, still. His skin is cool to the touch. I hope he gets in to the dr tomorrow. Trying to get him to drink lots of water and juice as opposed to diet mtn dew. He just told my I was bossy and that he is a grown man and doesn't need to be taken care of. LOL Ever see a grown man patient? Biggest babies ever. lol

Ended up back in the ER early Saturday morning, pain was worse than there night before (I didn't think that was possible) and even after morphine & other pain news in iv. They performed an outpatient surgery, had some clots or something that waren't passing. I feel a lot of relief in that area, still some pain but nothing like it was. Throat is sore from the tube from anaesthesia and neck, shoulders & back are extremely sore (release papers said that was an effect of surgery in ab & pelvis) ouch!! Kris is taking good care of me. Posting from my phone in bed, hope to be up & about soon and back to sharing recipes bc I have some new ones I really want to post. I was flabbergasted to say the least to see Little Justin here with the countertops. He is a doll. I heart Little Justin. He is even going to cut down the back splash to 3 inch height as to not cover up my other decorative tile. A four inch back splash is standard but it also wouldn't work in my kitchen. The Big Justin was just going to cover up my pretty tile. Little J did a good dry fit on the new sink. It is 10 inches deep, with a built in cutting board, drains, and two wire racks to protect the stainless. The faucet is big, sleek, modern single lever. Came wrapped in a felt bag, Kraus. Good quality stuff from overstock.com......1/3 less than same in Home Depot and Lowes. I have to get a picture as soon as the camera charges up and I get the dust wiped down again. I still don't have water.......but the plumber will be here on Tuesday. We called in Fred's friend to do the work that Big Justin has fallen behind on doing. Thank goodness, I see progress.....let's hope the doors, drawers, slides, guides, hinges go together smoothly. and the microwave gets installed!!!!! Liv missed her popcorn during Harry Potter. She mixes it with those little chocolate nonpareils, messy but good,

Dahlia, I'm so sorry you have to deal with so much pain. Having had the same surgery in August, I know how badly your shoulders ache and throat hurts. Glad you have Kris to help nurse you. Ditto on the get well vibes from Corinne. And Dahlia, you are not crazy, dear....you are a foodie.

Lori, Bryan's symptoms don't sound good. Please tell me he makes it to the Dr. tomorrow. Sending get well vibes to him too.

Corinne, glad you can get the game on-line streaming...Woo Hoo. That makes for a good Sunday afternoon.

I'm brining the shrimp and will broil them ala Alton Brown. We will sit outside and have our shrimp appy. I have some tough old top sirloin marinating. Just have the salad to fix and make some dressing. Nixed the veggie kabobs...can't find the skewers anywhere. Going to make creamed spinach (frozen Stouffers') in the toaster oven.

Pulled into the Walmart parking lot and turned around and came home........it was so packed. I didn't have the gumption to face that crowd.

Laura...thanks for the good word too. It is a miracle....progress.....good things can happen....I'm so sorry I've been such a complete pill. Shame on me.

Happy Birthday wishes going out to your son Corinne.
That's thoughtful of your sister to decide to come in Feb. when seats are cheaper and a meal out will be so lovely. Will check out that link later. Whoo Hoo on the Granite Tina. Has Justin redeemed himself? I think you had two Justin's though didn't you?
Whoop-Whoop for the Staley Champs. That's awesome Brooke!
That is a little worrisome with all those symptoms of Bryan's Lori. I hope you do manage to get him into a Dr. tomorrow just to make sure everything is okay.
Holy Smokes Dahlia. What a horrific time you've had of it. Thanks for popping in and giving us the update. You poor thing. That's just nasty. I hope this is just an isolated incident. Virtual fluffy pillows and warm soups heading your way. :)
Well, Dim Sum was yummy although Jim was getting impatient waiting for the 'good stuff' to get rolled around. He ordered extra Ginger squid and had enough left-overs for a doggy bag for his lunch tomorrow so all was well. Did pretty good shopping. Went into a neat shop in China Town after Dim Sum and bought Benjamin a Chinese DVD and a Chinese Music DVD and a beautiful brass Dragon (2012 is the Year of the Dragon). We asked the couple running the shop if they could help recommend a movie and music as it's all in Mandarin and we told them our son was studying the language. They were so nice and so helpful. I'm really tickled. Got my Mom a couple of books and some fun candy. Chocolate Honeycomb. She's going to love it. And this popcorn that is covered in crushed peppermint and caramel. Stopped by a Bagel Shop and bought fresh bagels that are done in a wood fired oven and they were still warm. OMG! Jim and I shared one straight away.
Sens game on in 40 min. but we want to run out for a Hot Tub first. I've been on the go all day. Whew.

Yep, two different guys named Justin on the kitchen remodel. One helper named Justin again a different fellow who worked on the pool. it reminds me of working in the kitchen at Rollande and Pierre...we had five guys named Ed working there at one time.... a set of twins, named Edwin and Edward.....dated them both......long story. LOL
No one knew who was being asked to do something in that kitchen, it was a zoo.

Janet, you sound like you had a great day, dear. Ginger squid sounds soooooo good. Love the presents for Benjamin. They sound perfect for him.

Watching the Pats, Corinne. They are having a good game this first half!

Tina, everything sounds wonderful for supper. YUM. I will have to look up Alton's broiled shrimp. The kitchen faucet et al sounds gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

WOW Janet! What cool gifts you found! The popcorn sounds amazing, and the gifts for Benjamin sound perfect. He will be thrilled with them, I'm sure. Hot tub...wooohoooo!!!

Hey Joce! Thanks everyone for the get well vibes for Bryan. I'm sure he will get in tomorrow, if not he will go to a walk-in clinic. You're right Joce, you just never know with stuff like this. First thought allergies, and went through a whole pack of benadryl. By then it was holidays and dr offices closed, so when the symptoms changed I went back to the pharmacist, and he pulled some liquid mucinex for me that had something for cough, head and chest congestion, and tylenol. He's almost through that whole bottle, and still not really better. We both decided that Santa Fe Soup was probably too spicy today. I think Im going to see what Campbells has to offer in my kitchen and pair it with grilled cheese.

Did not find the Cupcake Chardonnay......because I sent Fred to the store. He came home with a bottle of Winking Owl, which worked perfectly for the shrimp. Alton Brown's brined and broiled shrimp are heads and tails above any other shrimp. They are plump, seasoned and never ever flabby or tough.
The only way to make a perfect Shrimp cocktail in my honest opinion:
    http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/the-shrimp-cocktail-recipe/index.html

The steaks are going sit in the marinade til tomorrow. I'm full and don't need to fuss anymore. I'm tired too. The spinach and salad can wait. I'm ready to put the feet up and rest. And sip that last glass of wine......LOL

The "Ed" twins were a wonderful and awful part of my life. Almost married one of them. I was 19, and was literally left at the alter with a 500.00 dollar ivory chiffon empire waist dress with fingertip sleeves in lace (a fortune in 1976) and a china service for 24 (That I just trashed in the dumpster this year, never used, and too many bad memories to hang onto) Sister Allison drove to his house in the middle of the night and cussed him up one side and down the other for breaking my heart. Found out later he had two other girlfriends and both were pregnant. Nuff said. Dodged a bullet with that one. His brother took me to the prom and was a perfect gentleman....but I fell hard for the other brother, the one with the devil in his eye. Both of them had gorgeous full heads of auburn hair, freckles and clear green eyes. Oh...my goodness.

Feel bad. I know I shouldn't, but I do. But I'm hungry and I have no energy to do anything more. Love the Ed story. Ouch at the altar with a chiffon dress. Did you truly trash the china? Surely you could have sold it on Kijiji or whatever. And another mark for Allsion. Guess she has a heart in there somewhere hey? Indeed you dodged a bullet. What is it with women and bad boys hey? Know full well the devil in the eye. Potent as all get out. Hugs.

I held onto that china all these years thinking that I would give it to my daughter.....showed it to her this year, told her the whole story behind it and she said...."I'd hate it forever, because of the heartache it caused you." It was a white on white lace pattern with a silver band...very old fashioned. I did list it for sale and had an offer for 100 dollars even, but then we could not find the box of plates....only all the accessory pieces. Tried to take it for resale at ChinaFinders and they offered me 5.00.
Noritake Silver Palace pattern, 1976. So when the garage clean up started it was rather cathartic to let go of a very painful piece of my past......chucked the china and broke it to smithereens.....kind of like my heart long ago. It took me forever to get over Edwin and a lot of bad stuff happened to me following that heart ache. He just about killed every ounce of trust a girl could have and my self esteem was in the toilet. Yep, Allison does have some redeeming features and she is loyal to a fault. It is her feistiness and sense of self that I admire most about her....her selfishness is another story. (she wanted me to get married with her as a double wedding and THAT didn't happen)....that is a whole different story. LOL

Yay Liv. Wise girl you have there Tina! :) Get you on the 'cathartic'. It would feel good. Surprised at Chinafinders though. I had a China pattern on my Bridal list. Silver Maple by Royal Doulton. I love it to this day. Don't use it a lot but feel special when I do. I investigated getting extra pieces earlier this year but the pattern has been discontinued and it's a horrendous price for extra pieces. I've never, ever felt comfortable spending an exorbitant amount of money on things that are breakable.
Goodness Kimmer. Bless your heart. You are a fierce woman and I think you're awesome. Sleep sweet. Virtual heating pad being sent over!
    What a busy day.
    Night all!

    Hello Everyone
Brooke good luck with the Treadmill hunt
Dehlia OMG hope you feel better soon!
Bryan sounds like Frank you can tell he is sick but absolutely refuses to go to dr or hospital. If he tells me he made an appointment for something I get pretty worried because I know he must be in serious pain.
The mall was pretty slow, today was the one day that the Macy's employees get a huge discount on Fragrence and cosmetics (50%) so most of my sales were to employees.
Frank wanted to take the girls to chop down a fresh Christmas tree but Rachel wanted to use the fake tree and use the money to buy outside decorations and she won out.
They put together the tree and got the lights on it and I helped decorate it when I got home. Frank got an outside 8 foot snowman at Walmart for $24. The only one left was the display so he asked the mgr (same guy that sold us that outside set this summer) to knock of $5 and he said OK Ill knock off $10.
tonights dinner was pasta, when I made the arancini Wed I wound up with extra meat filling which is seasoned and has tomato past so I just added that to a pasta and a can of crushed tomatos, also used up some of the extra cheese.

Sleep sweet Kimmer. I hope you feel better soon, dear. Sleep sweet indeed.
Janet, ChinaFinders is a local china pattern locator, right down the street from Painting with a Twist. They told me they had oodles and oodles of pieces for my pattern and it wasn't worth much. So it got the old heave ho....Liv doesn't have that kind of "entertaining gene" in her. The idea of a special china pattern means nothing to her...she would rather have an "experience". I don't see her caring about a whether the table linens are pressed or if the dishes even match. Setting a table to her is an odious chore. It was always one of my favorite things to do to help my mom. I loved the feel and translucency of the fine china in my hand, polishing the silver til it gleamed and it was about the only time you would find me with an iron in my hand...ironing and starching the napkins so I could fold them in fancy patterns. Funny those things were fun to me and I loved the civility of a fine table. But I never could get totally behind the idea of a fine china left only for special occasions, every day should be special day. Company isn't the only reason to use the "good stuff" You should use the "good stuff" for your family and yourself too. Even if you set the table for one. One need not be the loneliest number you ever hear. Treating yourself well only on a special day leads to gradual loss of self. When you stop caring about the things that matter to you, it sends the wrong message to your own pysche. Lack of caring for yourself snowballs into a lack of caring for the things around you and that will perpetuate a feeling of unworthiness. If you feel you aren't worthy of being cared for, it becomes a vicious cycle of self-defeating behavior. That is a terrible thing to do to the wonderful creation you are, a child of a Higher Being, with a purpose and unconditional love from the universe, even if it isn't apparent in the everyday.. Each of us is miraculous in a unique sense and have an intrinsic value that should be nurtured and cherished You should have things you love to touch and look at every day to give you that sense of satisfaction and well being. If your food is continually shoved at you through a fast food window, you become desensitized to taste and it leads to a lethargy towards life beyond cooking and the pleasure of a good meal prepared with caring loving hands. Learning to appreciate the value of foods that are harvested locally, raised with care, treated with respect will engender a sense of well being beyond the marketing wiles of a corporate giant. Cheaper does not always mean better. Yes, it will take more time and effort but who better to care for your well-being than yourself. Responsibility for what you eat is a choice that lies within. Good Grief.......Oops, soap box under my feet. Time to get off the internet and go polish a countertop. And it will be a pleasure to put my Corelle in the dishwasher in a few short weeks, it isn't the china I longed for and never used, but it is a dish I can live with and appreciate. Kind of like my Fred.....he may not be the devilish Ed of my past, but he is the foundation of my soul. He is my dear husband for better for or for worse, in sickness and in health....yada yada yada.
