Friday's Frosting

  • chuckieb 9 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! I am most pleased to announce that I can walk this morning! LOLOL. After my fall skiing yesterday I was sure I'd be stiff and sore and I am. :) But I can still walk. Infact....I'm going to go try do my stint on the treadmill in just a bit. The last two years of travelling around with Jim have added some inches to my waistline that I must shed. When I was working I was on my feet all day, and now not so much. Always a battle, always a battle.
On that note.....Frosting. LOLOL. I took a cake decorating course years ago. It was a lot of fun. Would need to take a refresher now but I do admire a well iced cake.
Jim and I were so full from our Chinese Dim Sum yesterday at lunch that we just nibbled in the evening. I had a bit of the Porkchop and Sauerkraut leftovers and Jim had a pc. of ham on a bun with some mustard. So that means I still have the Beef Bourginoune to use up so that shall shift to this evenings meal.
No big plans today. We got another couple of inches of snow yesterday.
Joce....hope you're doing okay. We haven't heard from you since you were heading to the Dentist. Hope you made out okay.
    Tina, thinking of you.
Karen, how is Miss Kitty this morning?
Michelle, those tacos and that salsa you made look so yummy. I'm totally going to give that a whirl soon.
Marie, how'd your turkey tacos turn out?
    Might make a batch of
    Peanut Butter Bonbons
to keep in the freezer 'til Benjamin gets home. They're his favourite.
    Wishing everyone a Fabulous Friday!

    Cakes look really pretty!

Glad you are walking about okay. Falls are no fun!

Miss Kitty is a bit better. I decided to keep her inside for a few days. She might have fallen or got into it with another cat or critter. She is walking a bit stiffer, but the condition worsened so quickly that I feel better keeping an eye on her. The large carrier has hay inside so she will be comfy, and her food, water, and a small litter box are there. She eats, drinks, and purrs when I go to see her, still very sociable. I'm not kidding myself, though, as she has outlasted the vet's prognosis by 5 months. A.C. sneaks over to the door and sniffs -- he knows she is there and would like to pounce - the little bully!

Wayne is napping on the sun room couch and I am on the loveseat. Very lazy morning.

I need to get moving and fix breakfast - bacon sounds good - kielbasa for supper or use up the last of the leftover turkey?

    Have a nice day.

Morning! Love your avatar pic. Janet, looks so beautiful there! Sorry to hear you fell though :( Yay on no pain today though! I can do a little bit of decorating with the tips, but no much. That would be fun to take a decorating class! I just know Benjamin is going to appreciate all his comfort food that your making him :)

Glad to hear Miss Kitty is doing better. Bad A.C.! I wanted to make bacon this morning but I was just too grouchy to do it. I barely got any sleep last night and I'm not a morning person as is. Ate one of the berry bars that I made the other day instead.

Caiden is going to my parents this weekend, so I need to get packing. Briauna is not going to go, she has a sleep over birthday party to go to tomorrow night, and won't miss it for the world :) Not sure what's for dinner yet, something quick. I think we have a Girl Scout meeting tonight, of course they aren't going to let us know until last second. I can't stand it!!! Maybe just a quick sausage stir fry. Have a great day everyone!!

Morning Karen! Glad to hear Miss Kitty is doing okay. I'm rooting for her. :) Mmmm on Kielbasa.
Thanks Michelle. It is very pretty and with the new snow that fell overnight it's even prettier this morning. Sorry you didn't get a good sleep. Fun that Caiden is going to your parents for the weekend and fun that Bri has a sleepover. That would be very annoying not to know until the last moment if there is a Girl Scout meeting or not. Sausage stir fry sounds great. Perhaps Sausage is the theme today?
Well...I survived the treadmill. Just barely. Every part of my body hurt badly. But I did it. JIm's actually going to go shovel the pond some more today. Why do I find his energy slightly annoying? :)

Wayne went to feed horses. I have a few minutes then have to get dressed and return to cleaning the bedroom - esp. the carpet - yukky yukky!

Michelle, I am not a morning person, either. Just not wired that way. But I am getting up by 6:30 regardless, most mornings anyway. Of course, the fact I fall asleep in my recliner two hours at night doesn't have anything to do with waking up early, now, does it! LOL. Maybe you and Briauna can take advantage of Caiden's weekend away and go our for a mother-daughter lunch one day? Hannity talks about his daddy-daughter days where he lets her chose where to eat etc., and she always says Subway instead of wanting a nice steak or something. Kids are funny.

I would like to get this house in a decent semblance of order, at least the bedroom and computer room. The storage area / guest room to be / disastrous mess / Miss Kitty hideaway is a herculean task also. We forgot to get a set of shelves at Lowes so can't get the storeroom together. Wayne's buddy plans on doing the sun room doors so I need to get some old sheets ready to cover furniture -- it will be a dusty mess until finished.

Janet, I need to get back into exercise some way, also. Wayne goes for a walk but right after eating is not my best time -- maybe when we go gather up tents and stuff from deer season I can get out and about and walking. When the weather improves I need to look for some Senior exercise programs for old beat up people -- ha ha.

Better scoot -- have a zillion things to do. Bacon and eggs and toast for breakfast was really good. Probably won't want much lunch. Kielbasa - carrots -- green veggie of some type -- for supper, maybe - took out two frozen pork steaks to thaw but they won't be ready by evening, I don't think. Tomorrow sounds like a better time for them. See your later.

It is a beautiful sunny day today and would be perfect for Cross Country Skiing or Downhill Skiing today, Janet. Glad to hear you aren't a hurting unit after skiing yesterday. I was always into Downhill skiing when I was younger but, Cross Country Skiing not as much. A very pretty pic of the trail in your avatar. I did O.K. at the dentist but, will have to go back in a couple of weeks to have a hairline crack fixed on one of my teeth. I am envying your Dim Sum Lunch yesterday! YUM! Beef Bourginoune will be just perfect for your dinner tonight too! Those cake pics look wonderfully iced.

Karen, Glad to hear Miss Kitty is doing much better today. I am always stuffed after bacon, eggs and toast as well.

Michelle, Too bad you used up your Cheesecake Factory certificate. With Caiden not there this weekend it would have been a perfect opportunity for you to go. Maybe you can do something like that with Briauna anyways? I wouldn't be pleased having to wait to the last minute to find out if there is a Scout meeting or not! I actually don't understand why they do it that way?

Den is having a rib eye steak for dinner with oven fries and I am having leftover rotisserie chicken from last night with something? Nothing much exciting happening here as usual.

Hoping everyone has a great day!

Good luck with all your jobs Karen. We had bacon, eggs and toast for brekkie too.
I am a hurting unit Joce. :) My rib cage is killing me. I too prefer downhill over cross-country. You don't have the control over CC skiis as you do downhill ones. Too bad you have to go back to the Dentist. Both yours and Den's dinners sound yummy. Sure is nice blue sky out there isn't it! The sunshine is very uplifting.

Hi all:) Just back from taking Bribie in for her annual checkup and vacs..had to go by the bank & post office and now we're getting ready to go to a matinee..again:) American Sniper..it's supposed to be a very good movie.

I love your avatar Janet..absolutely beautiful....hope your soreness goes away soon!

Karen, so glad to hear Miss Kitty is feeling better:)

Michelle, sometimes I wish I weren't a morning person..I start running out of steam about 1:00 pm! Sausage stir fry sounds like a great quick yummy meal:)

Joce, I'm sure Rick would LOVE a rib eye for dinner..I do have some steak in the freezer:) I don't know what we're having for dinner..we're going out for lunch before the movie..he made popcorn and put it in a big baggie, which is now in my purse along with some gummy bears..oy vey. The last time we we at the theater, the popcorn was $6 for a medium and the drinks were around $5..so he decided we could take our movie snacks..you should see my purse, I could barely get it zipped up..I hope the movie theater police don't bust me:-D Maybe if I let them know I'm with the IMI police they will let me off with a warning..LOL :-D haha

Hi Marie! Jim and I were talking about going to a movie this coming week and we'd settled on "American Sniper" too. Let me know how you like it. I'm a morning person too. And I wake up very cheery which drives non-morning people NUTS. :) That's a great idea to bring your own snacks to the theatre. As you say, they charge astronomical prices. Plus....a 'small' drink is enough for like four people. The sizes are totally off. Jim would be totally all over the gummy bears. That's his favourite treat. I just bought this cool Popcorn assortment at Costco when we were last there. They must have had them at Christmas although I don't remember seeing them and they were regular $10 on for half price. Five flavours of popcorn and the 'sleeves' were about from your elbow to your finger tips so a good size. Great deal. I should have picked up two or three but you never know until you try them if its going to be decent. LOL @ being with the IMI police helping you out if you get busted....they'd be like "Whaaaa??????" :)

That's a great idea Karen about having a Mommy Daughter day, and perfect since Michael is working days all weekend anyway! I think I may take her to see that movie that came out today called “Paddington”. If you haven't seen the trailor for it go watch, it's adorable!! We could also do lunch and I'll let her pick, but I know she''ll pick Subway as well :P

I don't know why they do that Joce? Bri has a nice big troop that is pretty active, but IMO very disorganized. I've offered to help in any way and got assigned a job, where I'm supposed to get supplies for each meeting and I even got a debit card from the troop bank account. That was 2 years ago and they still have not asked me to buy one thing. Your dinners sound yummy!

Haha Marie on making your own popcorn! We bring our own drinks which I sneak in my purse :) Lol I'm definitely sure they will just let you off with probation since your with the IMI police :P

Caiden just left with my parents, Briauna is at school and Michael is at work. Ahhh this is the life. The only sound I here is the washing machine running. I was thinking maybe I should take a nap, but then I'll just be grouchy when I wake up (YES I'm grouchy after naps too) and plus I'll sleep even harder tonight if I skip it. I'm going to need clamps to keep my eyes open!

I used to have "Benj and Me days" with Benjamin a lot. Even right up until he graduated from University. It went from lunch at Pizza joints to five star restaurants. Tastes change. :) But they were all very special days and ones I'll remember fondly always. I SO want to see "Paddington". I read the books when I was young and am a major Paddington fan. That Scout troop does sound extremely disorganized. Part of organization is knowing how to delegate to get things done and that's obviously not happening.

Janet, that was one of the best movies we have seen in a long, long while..Taken 3 doesn't come close..it was based on a true story and I did shed a tear or two towards the end..no one in the theater left until all the credits were done..very moving movie..Bradley Cooper deserves an Oscar for his performance. I'm sure you will feel the same way:)
BTW, I didn't even have to show my badge..hahaha

My gosh Karen, we had TOO much popcorn..I could barely get it out of my purse! Both of our Mom's loaded us up when we were kids when we went to see a movie and we thought it would be like paying a special homage to them:) I will ALWAYS take our own snacks from now on:) We are full of popcorn & gummy bears at the moment..so I still don't know what we'll be having for dinner..maybe a salad..something light:)

Janet, I need to mention, the movie is hard to watch at times..but as they say, war is hell. You just need to remember these Navy Seals were doing what they do to protect their home & country..I hate war:(

Just to keep you informed: Miss Kitty is moving about normally! She can go back outside tomorrow morning. I'm thinking she fell or something, because she does move her rear quarters better. Will keep an eye on her just in case.
