Monday Morning Motivation

  • MissouriFarmWife 9 years ago
Good morning. It is a beautiful, sunny day! It will be another warm day. I am not motivated to work, but there are some fire department reports that need doing, and two church reports. The house is crying for cleaning! Miss Kitty needs to go outside after it warms up. I may steel myself and see how she does outside, overnight, then decide on when to take her to the vet.

Had home-grown-pork sausage for breakfast. It was a bit spicy but would be great in meatloaf.

Fire Dept. meeting is tonight. Not looking forward to it.

    See you later.

Morning Karen!! Good luck getting those reports done. Hope if you do let Miss Kitty out overnight, she does well. Yum on the pork sausage this morning, the spicier the better :)

Got up early and got this in the crockpot Beef Bean Chili In A Crock Pot except I added in about 8 oz. of fresh chorizo with the beef. Wanted it to get a full 12 hours on low. This will be Michael's dinner when he gets home from work. The kids and I will be eating lunch/dinner at my parents house when we go and pick up Caiden this afternoon. I think we are having smoked chicken, sweet potatoes and I'm sure some kind of veggie. Ugh, not looking forward to the long boring drive, but I can't wait to see my little monkey :) Hope everyone has a great day!!

    Good morning!
Sophia is home sick today. Third cold this winter, poor girl! I hope my son doesn't pick it up, he has mid-terms all next week. Though I'm sure he'd rather be sick, lol! ;) I guess I'll be sanitizing the house today.
I'm going to start my slow cooker beef stew shortly, it's a crock pot type of day today! I've learned after many years of making this, to not brown the beef before hand. The meat better soaks up the flavour when put in raw and becomes more tender and juicy. :)
    Have a great day everyone!

If it is nice and sunny there today it may be good for Miss Kitty to get outside and get some fresh air? Good luck with all those reports. I am glad I don't have to do any of that!

Very good thinking, to have the crockpot going so early this morning, Michelle. I never seem to cook in my crockpot on low, only high? Aww it will be great for you to see Caiden after his mini-vacation:) Bummer on the long boring drive though:( Your dinner at your parents sounds just lovely!

We are having hot roast beef sandwiches tonight with the leftover pot roast. There is a ton of gravy left for it! YUM! It warmed up quite a bit here yesterday and much of the snow is gone from the roads and sidewalks etc. Then the temperature plunged back down over night and it snowed a wee bit. I hope Den had a good drive into work and it wasn't slippery. Nothing much up here again for me, it is so boring sometimes b/c, I can't do that much. Maybe some dusting and taking the Swiffer over the floors? I have been cleaning out papers in the desk drawers, then they have to be shredded. Some of the papers and bills and things have been in there hiding for years! It will be good to have most them cleared out giving more space. LOL for more current papers:) So much for our paperless world!

Tina, Thinking of you. Tomorrow will be a long day for you. HUGS)))

    Wishing everyone a pleasant day!

Shona, Poor Sophia:( I hope your son doesn't catch that cold either! What a time you have had this winter with cold and flu and things. Sending "The Magical Germ Killer Fairy" to you:) Then hopefully everyone will be better!

So many errands to do and a doctor's appointment. And Olivia agreed to sit for some dogs on the other side of town......arghhh. I can't sleep at all. I stayed in bed for three hours staring at the ceiling. Our slide show lasts one half hour and has 87 pictures. The music lasts one and a half hours with our tracks, added Elvis singing How Great Thou Art.

Hugs to all. Motivation is the key today, indeed. We are having something out.

Good luck with the house cleaning and reports Karen. Yum on the sausage. I've never had sausage in a meatloaf. I bet it's delicious. That was quite a feast you had at the Church Potluck! Neat that you heard the coyotes. I love that sound. We never hear them in the winter time as we're usually locked up in the house, but as soon as the weather is warm and we open the windows we get that seranade a fair amount. That TV show about Alaska sounds very interesting. I've mentioned I'm sure that my SIL lives in Anchorage. We would really like to go visit her there one day.
Yum on Chorizo in chili Michelle. I've never had that either! Yum on Smoked Chicken at your parents. Have a good drive. (How long did you say it was again? An hour and a half?)
Good to see you Shona. Sorry to hear Sophia is sick. :(
YUM with a capital Y on Hot Beef Sandwiches Joce. I could totally go for that. Jim and I went for tea at friends and our back country roads were awful. Really greasy. Hope Den's drive went okay and the main roads are often better since they're much more travelled. I do feel for you feeling bored. It won't be long until you're up and about again and running around like usual. LOL @ Magical Germ Killer Fairy. (Wonder what it would look like?) :)
Thinking of you Tina. Sorry you can't sleep. Take good care.
I am all excited as on the way home from visiting my friend we drove by a Bald Eagle in a tree. I got a great look at it. Jim turned the car around and we went back and I managed to get two pictures before it became annoyed and flew further back into the woods. There were 8 crows mobbing it and making the coolest vocalizations. I am betting there was a dead deer in the ditch it was eyeing up as it was very intent on something. SO GORGEOUS!
    Making
    Tetrazzini
for dinner this evening. Didn't care for that salmon recipe last night. It wasn't very well written. And it tasted okay but not great. Won't make again.
Wishing everyone a good rest of the day.

The very best of luck with your errands and doctor's appointment today, Tina. I do hope you get some sleep tonight!

Janet, Your avatar pic of the bald eagle is amazing! We have them at the lake and they are huge! Their nests are huge too! Bummer on your salmon last night:( Tetrazzini sounds good to me! I don't imagine you put the broccoli in it do you? Maybe you just pick it out?

Thanks Joce. I'm still all on a high after seeing the Eagle. :) My Mom has a nesting pair not far from her house in Rainy River. They are just so cool. I split the Tetrazzini recipe in two and add all the veggies to Jim's including broccoli but certainly not in mine. :)

I keep going to your profile page to get a good look at your avatar, Janet! It truly is an amazing shot! Smart idea spiting the recipe up like that. You Mom is lucky to have a pair so close to her! How is she doing lately?

Mom appears to be doing fine Joce, thanks for asking. The Mennonite Women in her area always hold a "Widow's Tea" near Valentine's Day and she is looking forward to that. I always think it sounds so morbid, but......:)

I have never heard of a "Widow's Tea" before? It does sounds a bit morbid. Oh well, a good excuse for her to get out and have something to look forward to.

I had never heard of a "Widow's Tea" either, so I Googled it to find out more information.. It sounds likes a really nice ministry to widows by the Mennonites, complete with food and entertainment. One church even invited any one to stay when they drove a widow to the gathering..

We have a couple of bald eagles (maybe more) near the river about 6 miles from us. They are certainly beautiful birds of prey.

Love Elvis' rendition of "How Great Thou Art" -- he was always good with Gospel songs. I prefer them to the "Rock" music. Take care, and have a good time eating out, Tina.

    Hi to everyone.

    Hey all,
Had to work today but frank had the day off. He put together my exercise bike yippee! Made the dr appointment for my foot.
Not sure what for dinner, I had taken out some chicken sausages but they are still frozen, then I was thinking fish sticks and French fries (low fat) but I'm kind of craving a burger. Ground beef defrosts pretty quick but I don't have any hamburger buns. I wonder if frank would squack at sandwich thins for buns.
We have a crossbreed of coyotes in town. It's part wolf and part coyote and they call them coywolves. There is a Facebook page called Wildlife of Wilmington and they are always at this guys camera. A whole pack including pups. They look like wolves to me! He also gets great shots of this big 8 point buck.

Karen's quick and easy meatloaf with sausage is a favorite! Fred loved it with spicy sausage which was always a surprise.

Send the 'germ fairy' for us. Would it be gauche to have hand sanitizer next to my boxes of kleenex tomorrow? I also added "The Lord is my Shepherd" from Cissy Houston, along with Wynona Judd's "I can Ony Imagine". It is a good mix of our favorite songs and some gospel. I put in Fred's favorites and some of Olivia's too.

So cool on the huge bald eagle. Very neat.
Take care all, I'm taking a sleeping pill and toddling off to bed. Met the dogs Liv is sitting, a HUGE yellow lab who next to his buddy Gus, the English Bull Dog, he looks positively petite. I don't know how she can wrangle them on a walk. They are easily 100+ a piece. I'm not so worried about her staying the night there after meeting her charges.

Tina, sneak a small bottle of hand sanitizer next to you or in a pocket and use it as desired. No one will be the wiser. I'm sure the music will be wonderful, and how nice that it represents some of your favorites.

Homer would look small at 73 lbs. next to a 100 lb. lab! Our daughter had a 100 lb. dog show up on her porch - it had heart worms and was very old, probably dumped by some idiot, but she kept it and gave it a good home until the dog had to be put down last summer.

I looked at the Facebook page you mentioned, Laurie - cool! We have coy-dogs in this area, and after seeing them up close never want to run into one out in the open. One of our game cameras caught a not-good video of a wolf? coyote? hybrid critter? - huge animal! I enjoy looking at wildlife photos.....so cool!
