No Calorie Wednesday!

  • chuckieb 8 years ago
OH MY GOODNESS! Check out the pic below to see THE MOST AWESOME doughnut I've yet seen (I'm totally sure they are calorie free!) . Channeling Laurie's willpower I did not buy one. I repeat....I did not buy one! But it is lingering in my head and I may succumb yet. :) A Reese's peanut butter cup chocolate dipped Tim Horton's doughnut. CRAZZZZYYYY! Those are little chopped bits of peanuts strewn on top!
    GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY! :)
Got home last night about 7:30 p.m. (Always is so nice to come home no matter how wonderful a time you had away isn't it!) We stopped in Perth (wave to Joce) and picked up some nice cheese, sausage and some Asiago Artichoke dip for crackers and made up an appy tray along with the crazy good Kimchi I bought at the Farmer's Market in Kincardine and a fresh sliced tomato from my garden for our dinner.
We were both pooped from the entire trip and being in the car for so long. Had a FANTASTIC time at Rice Lake. Enjoyed every single minute and while on the computer this morning came across more info I can research on Jim's Great-Grandfather and the Hiawatha First Nation's United Church. Super interesting. (Their collection plates are made out of birch bark fashioned together with sweet grass and decorated with images of maple leaves and beavers that have been fashioned out of porcupine quills. For those not on FB I'll post a pic of one of them as well)
We had lunch at "Rhino's Restaurant" in Bewdley, Ont. before we reached our destination. It was located overlooking Rice Lake and very scenic. Jim and I shared the special which was BBQ ribs, chicken wings and fries. They have a plastic trophy head of a Rhino above their fireplace mantel. Pretty funny. (Pic of that too!) :)
How are your eyes today Tina? Hope you got a good sleep.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at the beach yesterday Michelle! I'm hoping to order a pizza box insert for our BBQ like the one my niece made us pizzas on when we were in St. Catharines. It was insanely good. Way better than take out.
I've tried to grow lavender before as well Karen and it didn't take off as I'd hoped. My Aunt said it LOVES full sun, so I've transplanted the one I had by the side of the house and planted two new plants up in the Rock Garden at the front of the property so here's hoping! My Aunt's lavender plants are immense and plentiful. How did your carpet shopping go?
You sure have been busy with the interviews Laurie. I am SURE it will pay off. Have all appendages crossed for you!
Don't know what I'm making for dinner yet except it will include using the BBQ and getting some fresh corn on the cob. Hot here today.Going up to 29C/84F. Turning the air conditioner on for sure!
Wishing everyone a most fabulous Wednesday!!!!!!!

Morning! Hi Janet, love all the pictures everything is awesome, especially those donuts :) Wow you have been so busy, your making me tired! I've never heard of a pizza box insert for you grill. I've heard of pizza stones on the grill and just putting the pizza directly on the grill. Yum on your dinner, and good luck on your errands!

Enjoy visiting with your Mom and Dad Marie! Yay, so glad they could deliver Friday, weight lifted off you huh? :) Oh gosh, I could eat fried okra all day!

Caiden had swim lessons (yes another round, last for the summer) then I worked out. Haven't been to the gym in a week and a half, so I feel super out of shape :( Meet the teacher night is tonight for Briauna. She has 3 teachers this year. She knows one of them but not the other two. Dinner tonight will be leftover pizza for the kids and Michael, and I'll have leftover stuffed pork chops and brussel sprouts :) Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

    Hi all.

Now Janet, I assure you I would avoid a Reese's donut (DROOL) and remain virtuous (Aargh, HUNGER pains) and refrain from sampling one (Munch, munch, munch). The collection plate is awesome.

So nice you could stop your Mom's, Marie. Pork chops sound good to me.

Michelle, I hope Briauna's unknown teacher meets with her approval. My GS likes his fifth grade teacher and is happy to be back in school again.

My last exercise class was this afternoon and I am very tired. We are waiting for my at to be serviced then have a class tonight. Ugh! Hope to say awake through it. LOL!

We have a new market opening Southeast St Pete and they have crazy flavored doughnuts. I love doughnuts. This market is so needed and I'll be thrilled to support this new business. I'll have to avoid the doughnuts and get the fresh organic produce and smoked mullet. Janet, fancy pants doughnuts are everywhere! I enjoyed your travel pics.

I scalded my mouth on a spoonful of crab corn chowder last night and it hurts. I don't know if I'll be eating much more than a scrambled egg. So dumb, the dish didn't feel hot.

Pizza on the grill is delicious. So is mesquite grilled chicken.

Good luck to Brianna and her meet the teacher night. I hope she likes them. Throw me a Brussel sprout. I could eat them every day. Okra not so much, Michelle.

Marie, I;m glad the GD pick up schedule works with you visitation with your Mom and Dad. So glad you can help them out. Hugs.

Good luck to Laurie on the interviews.

My eyes are worse than ever. Such a blurry world. Navigation is iffy. Allison has to have 35 radiation treatments mon-fri. and I'm to be her driver. This will be interesting.

Liv is canoeing today and she got her visit to Notre Dame bookstore. She comes home late Thursday.

I've got three baskets to fold and it won't happen by the laundry fairy. Oh well.

    Hi everyone
I had an interview yesterday with the staffing company for an attorney locally. I think it went well they say I'm top contender. But the job sounds scary it's basically doing everything for an older attorney that doesn't use computer or email so I need to be his right hand person. And they said he is quirky. Lol. I didn't hear back from the company I had a second interview with on Monday. But it seems like things are picking up. Hopefully I will find something soon.
I did a rest day no running or walking. I've been going out every day. I ran 3 miles four times last week and walked my neighborhood the other days.
We are in the middle of a heatwave. Turkey burgers on the grill. Although I think my sister must have bought them when I was in Jamaica and she stayed here. I found them in the freezer and I never buy them lol
My laundry fairy is Becca and she is a slacker and this fairy never, never matches the socks! Just leaves them all in the bitto of the basket.

Laurie, I have worked for a few quirky people, you get used to them and their ways..just go with the flow, you will be excellent in your endeavors

Holy Smokes on Meet the Teacher Night already Michelle! I'd never heard of a Pizza Box either until we saw Jim's brother's. Here's a link to it:
    http://www.bakerstonebox.com/
Home Hardware actually had one in stock so I picked it up this afternoon with the metal pizza paddle for cooking and retrieving the pizza and I ordered the wooden pizza peel for inserting the pizza in the box as they were out of stock. Should get it next week. I'm VERY excited! :)
And your Grandson is back in school already Karen? Holy Smokes. Kids here don't go back 'til the first week of Sept. I think. Good for both you and Michelle for doing your work outs. I so need to start back but am still in holiday mode. :)
Fancy pants doughnuts? I had to google that one Tina. :) Check this link out (but beware of major doughnut cravings as a result) Dipping sauces to boot.

Yum on crab corn chowder but OUCH on the burn. :( Yes Michelle....throw Tina ALL the brussel sprouts please. :) I had read back when I was last away and never did find the update about Allison. Does she seriously have to have 35 radiation treatments in one week? or did I read that wrong? Fun on Liv canoeing. I should google the Notre Dame bookstore. I love bookstores.
LOL Laurie. Quirky is not necessairily a bad thing. It may actually be a fun thing! :) And if you are to be his right hand woman and computer guru then that puts you in the driver's seat. :) Yum on turkey burgers. I should do some of those soon myself. LOL @ Becca the laundry fairy.
The chicken was frozen rock solid this morning so I didn't get a chance to put it in the marinade and now there's not enough time. Picked up a nice little Rainbow trout for Jim and I to share instead. Got fresh corn too.
    Hot Tub time! :)

Janet, I didn't explain that well. She is being treated for stage 1 squamous cell cancer of her throat. Her radiation will be M-F, for seven weeks, 35 treatments total. They are doing a PET scan to make sure it has not spread. Her doctor said she was lucky to catch it early.

The doughnuts I'm talking about at the new market are from The Hole Bakery. https://www.facebook.com/stpetedonuts?fref=ts They are all dressed up varieties and are the rage.

I'm quirky. It isn't so bad.

I ordered turkey burgers from Schwan's. Hmm, maybe tomorrow's dinner.

I missed you Karen. hello! and good for you on sticking out the exercise class.

Laurie, great job on the running. LOL Becca.

I hate folding fitted sheets, the ocd in me goes haywire. Olivia scrunches them and shoves them in the closet. I think they are impossible to fold by oneself.
