Just a note to get the thread started. We all overslept and I have the car/job/church/shuttle to get in gear. Hope to get a crock pot of with a pork butt started, if not....it will be chicken something tonight. Must be catching.

I certainly slept in. Then I woke up and watched an old movie, "Night train to Munich". Featuring an extraordinarily young Rex Harrison. Mr. SuchAFuss brought me breakfast in bed, McDonalds EggAMuffin and a great big coffee. A lovely treat :)

This evening we will be taking Dad out for a birthday dinner at Carraba's they love Carraba's so I'm not cooking.

I'm planning for next weekend's multi birthday bash at our place. I'm looking for all cook ahead stuff. Menu so far includes a bit crockpot of pulled pork, confetti black-eyed pea salad, my sister-in-law is bring fruit salad, mom is in charge of dessert. then chips for the fussy ones. That should do but I'm still thinking I may need a second main dish... i dunno there are 16 of us.. hmmm.. ponder ponder

PIA this is the same niece that is receiving communion on Sat. and my inlaws are flying in Wed. so its not like we need to rush over there for cake cuz its her birthday. she should have just had a cake wed night when the inlaws are here. PIA!!!! and to top it off my SIL is not a great cook and her coffee tastes like sewer water. Then I have to leave to take becca to softball for 4pm and she was givving me crap about it. Really be like a normal mom and have a friend party cut I am sure the kid would rather that!!!!

Have chicken soaking in Lawry's Hawaiian Marindae to grill and think I'll grill some pineapple and veggies to fo with. Maybe a margarita. Nice day out, should be nice on the deck tonight. Horrible storms here overnight.

Have a great day everoyone! Not getting much "me" time. Someone is in spring cleaning mode.

OTter we love Carraba's. And what's funny is that even though it's an Italian place, they have the best steak you will ever eat! Friend of mine works at the one in Raleigh, NC, and he recommended to me...he was right! BEST steak I ever had! Now that's what I order when I go there. lol

Love when the pizza guy comes, Wynne. WIsh he could come to my house...maybe when the health nut goes back on night shift...LOL

OH Yeah, forgot to say that we absolutely loved Pleclares Pork Tenderloin in the Goldenherb Crust! Just wonderful. I had issues with the crust sticking to the meat, but, that was my pan, not the recipe. I don't have a pan with a rack, and everything sticks to the non-stick roasting pan I have...no matter what. I think until I get a new pan I would probably sear it first, then roast in the oven, but, like I said, that was my pan. I worked it out, and it was terrific!

Tina, my chicken something last night was my own recipe that I had totally forgotten about till I was scrolling along.... Chicken in Red Curry Coconut sauce, was really good. I hadn't made it since the first time!

Breakfast in bed, Otter? What is that? LOL Your b-day dinner sounds good to me, maybe you could add some cornbread...

Wynne, know how you feel, seems to be my mantra lately.

Lori, your dinner sounds good, but what "marindae"? LOL jk

It's sunnyin' up here, would like to grill something tonight, but don't know what!

Carrabbas is owned by Outback Steakhouse. they cook the steaks the same. I worked there for years (at Outback) and we always used our employee discount to eat at Carabbas.
just dropped becca off at softball practice. and yes the coffee still tasted like sewer water.

Going to get WEIGHED IN tomorrow morning at the butt-crack of dawn. I swear to you, if that scale ain't moved down at least a couple pounds, I'm going to crawl up into bed and eat all day and just give up.

I have never been burned down like I am right now. My head is a complete tornado inside I'm dealing with so much crap. But yeah. That's the ticket. Scale ain't moved? Crawl up and just forget it. Dang.

they just opened a Sonic here in town. Which is a huge thing out in the suburbs of Wilmington. Kids were dying to go so I took them there after softball. Rachel the string bean got a sonic burger. I had to help her. just had to! lol

We don't have Sonic Burgers in Everett, but I've been in Montana. It was lousy, but the ones in Savannah, GA are good!
Glad you survived the sewer water coffee! I just would've passed...

I've got baby-back ribs on the grill, nice calm sunny night here, and I'm making a scalloped sour cream/cheesy type thing with cauliflower in the oven. That's all.

I didn't really get anything at Sonic, but had some of the kids. they didn't break out of the box and try anything new like the toast and poppers.
the food was hot dogs and hamburgers so she couldn't really screw that up.
My friend Robyn wanted us to go to her place and I said we couldn't because we had to go there. robyn's husband was in the background yelling into the phone yes but the food is edible here!!! lol

HaHa, Liv always says she should work at Sonic's just so she can skate. Actually she likes the cherry lime freeze a lot. And the tots with chili and cheese. I love tator tots better than french fries. We''ve been for breakfast many times when she was up at the crack of dawn for ice skating and I highly recommend the french toast sticks and the pancake rollup thingy with the sausage middle. I like the breakfast egg tortilla roll ups.
