    Good Morning Everyone.

Thanks for the Salmon recipes Michelle and Joce. They all look good and since I couldn't make up my mind and pulled out MahiMahi instead and grilled it with a blackening mix I use from AllRecipes. I had mine over salad and DH had his with rice and steamed asparagus.

Nice having some down time and time for yourself Michelle, hope you enjoyed the painting thing. I had caught the show "Undercover Boss" and it was about the place you went to.

    Enjoy St. Augustine Kimmer!

Holy Cow Shona!! A gun shot is a very distinguished sound. I think you heard what you think you heard and not someone banging on a truck window. Scary to think it's going on during the daytime and people could have been outside and gotten hurt. And I can't believe you called 911 and the police never came out!! WTF!!
Both our computers have been weird the last few days too Shona.

Nice that Den does your grocery shopping Joce. He should win "man of the year" ... Oh how I wish someone could do mine.

How'd your dinner party go last night Janet? I'm sure everything turned out well and everyone had a great time. I know you were worried not having your own things to prepare with. Fingers crossed you hear something soon about Riverview Manor ... how far away is it from where your mom is currently living?

Will make a pork loin tonight for dinner. I'll bake/roast it along with potatoes, carrots, and Brussel sprouts. I'll use Janet's recipe again ... Dijon Pork Tenderloin With Rosemary And Thyme

I'm getting the hang of Facebook slowly. I don't do a lot of posting but will if I have a recipe I like or something interesting. I'm noticing it feeds me people who I may know or are mutual friends and I'm kinda figuring out who may be who slowly so if you see a request from Linda (last name begins with a T) it's me and not some strange weirdo who is stalking you.

DH and I scooped up some more stones to throw away this morning along the other side of the walk. Can only do a little at a time because it's tedious and hot outside. We skipped breakfast so after we took showers and instead of making the same ole for lunch I ordered sandwiches from Publix and went and picked them up. Also was able to get in a little grocery shopping too. The sandwich hit the spot! Bought 2 thick cut boneless porkchops for dinner that I'll grill along with broccolini and something else. Now I don't have to thaw a pork loin and will make another time however I still rub the chops with the Dijon mixture in Janet's recipe.

Good Morning Everyone! It is 11:17 and I’m compiling my post at home. Will run into town later on this afternoon to send it. The Library is closed today, but if I park the car at one side, I can still get wifi. 😊

My Chicken Parmigiana dinner went swimmingly last night, even better than I’d hoped. I had to drape a table cloth over an old card table and adjoin it to the kitchen table in order to seat everyone, and I had to use 3 resin lawn chairs as well as Mom only has four kitchen chairs. I made WAY too much food, but you have to be prepared right? I served some appys on the lawn with Sangria when they arrived. The plates and cutlery were all mismatched and the serving ware leaving much to be desired, but it was a really nice gathering just the same, and I received a lot of kudos. For dessert I used a bunch of Mom’s small wineglasses. I bought this neat new ice cream from Hagen Daz that I’d never seen before....part of their “Spirits” collection. The flavour was Key lime pie and Vodka. I put a scoop of that in the bottom and then filled the rest of the glass with blueberries and it was very yummy.

Everyone moved out on to the front deck after they finished their meal and we enjoyed another glass of wine and watched the sun set. Aunt Irene nodded off to sleep in a big cushy chair until someone went to take the wine glass out of her hand and then she woke up again. 😊 I think they left around 9:30 and I think they really enjoyed their evening, which made me pleased.

This morning I was up bright and early doing all the dishes from last night’s dinner as Mom’s dishwasher died years ago. I prepped Mrs. McGarrigle’s Ham and Mustard Loaf and made up a batch of Sauerkraut soup which is still simmering away and making the house smell nice. I’ve invited another cousin and her husband over for lunch within the hour. They are the ones that most often drive Mom to her appointments in Winnipeg and I just wanted to show my appreciation.

Jim, as always, is working away at top speed on his list of things to accomplish before we leave. He’s down in the basement doing not quite sure what at the moment, but it’ll be most definitely productive. 😊

This afternoon we have invited neighbours of Mom’s over for drinks. The man used to mow Mom’s grass for her and they often bring her garbage to the dump, etc. They’re a nice couple.

Tomorrow we are back to Fort Frances for a visit with Mom. My cousin and his wife from Dryden are coming down to visit Mom and us as well so it’ll be fun. Tuesday I’m home and then Wed. I’m heading back to FF with yet another cousin. She needs to get some servicing down on their truck and she’s been wanting to go visit Mom so we’ll do both those things then go somewhere nice (maybe back to that “Flint House”) for lunch and do a bit of shopping.

I have three hummingbirds coming regularly to the hummingbird feeder and I’ve been having to fill it up every third day as they just drain it.

Talked a bit to Benjamin yesterday morning. I think I mentioned that his girlfriend Angel’s work contract was done so she flew back to the Philippines yesterday. Was supposed to arrive in Manila around 2:30. Benj was pretty broken up. She’s hoping to get another contract in Taiwan and be back by the New Year. She hasn’t seen her daughter in three years, apart from Skype calls so was obviously looking forward to that. She was also going to stop at a famous Philippino Fast Food joint called “Jolliebee’s”. They specialize in hamburgers and fried chicken. I’d actually heard about the chain from my cousin in Winnipeg last week. He told me that Winnipeg has a high Philippino population and that a Jolliebee’s had recently opened there and was SO busy that you couldn’t get into the parking lot and you had to wait for a couple of hours to get inside. LOLOLOL. So when I told Benjamin about that, he agreed that it was quite a phenomena, and told me that Angel had said that when people from the Philippines were flying from the Philippines to Taiwan, they often stopped at a Jolliebee’s first, bought some hamburgers and then wrapped them in duct tape so the dogs at customs wouldn’t smell them and then they’d sell them for way more times they were worth once they got to Taiwan. LOLOLOL. One of these days I will have to check them out for myself and see what all the hoopla and fuss is about. 😊

Hoping everyone is well. Haven’t seen Karen around at all and Marie has disappeared on us as well. ☹

Am at the Library now! :) Had a really nice lunch with my cousin and her husband. They raved over the
    Sauerkraut Souppolish Style
    and asked for the recipe.

Mom is currently in hospital receiving physio in Fort Frances Linda, which is a little over an hour's drive from Rainy River. I'm glad you like that pork tenderloin recipe. :) I've never done it with pork chops and that's a fantastic idea which I hope I remember. :) LOLOLOL. That's hilarious that you just said what you did about FB. When I opened my computer I saw a friend request and thought...I have no clue who that person is...and I was going to disregard it. LOLOL. Thankfully you said that, so I now know you are not a strange weirdo. LOLOLOL.

There you are Karen! NICE on the family reunion. Where is it being held and how many people are coming? Have fun!!!!

Our dinner plans changed again. In the afternoon we watched a movie that was wonderful ... "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them". It fell into the Harry Potter and Lord of Rings fantasy. Very entertaining. Of course while watching the movie we ate too much popcorn and then were not that hungry for dinner but had to eat something so on they way to drop DH off we stopped at Pinchers (a seafood) restaurant and split a Caesar salad and crab cake dinner which was plenty. I'll freeze the pork chops for another time.

Excellent to hear your Chix Parm dinner went well Janet! Love Sangria too and had some myself when we went out. Your "dance card" has been full (lol!!). Fingers crossed Benj's girlfriend makes it back to Taiwan and it'll be nice break for her to visit with her daughter and family. That's funny about all the Jolliebee's hype.

Bren and Tina too ... where are they?

Reunion was fun. Will post details later. And pictures. I am using iPad and they are on the iPhone! I do not like storing pix on the Cloud.

My uncle, who called for the reunion, is not doing well. He has Parkinson's and we think there is something they are not telling us. He commented this might be his last time to attend one.

I will reread and comment probably tomorrow .... hi to all. See you later.
