Thoroughly Tired Thursday

Next time I go on an all day shopping excursion, kindly advise me to break it up into a two day, spread out occasion. Back is iffy, not hurting but not right. I'm pretty sure I remember my name, but that is debatable. LOL.

The floor is piled high with huge bags of Christmas presents waiting for wrapping, one giant economy sized grinder, and assorted other boxes. If we hadn't spent extra time at Bass Pro I guess we could have worked in Harbor Freight, but that would only have affected Wayne, I usually wait in the car and happily turn him loose. For whatever reason, he felt pretty good yesterday and did all the driving. I usually drive there while he naps, he fights Springfield traffic, and I drive most of the way home while he takes another nap. He claims it is because he enjoys driving the truck and hates my car - ha ha - but I seem to recall him dozing in the truck and flying across a snow covered median not so long ago.

I tried to upload some pictures but the stupid internet connection wigged out and lost the page AGAIN. So I just uploaded the above. I am thoroughly ticked at the internet company and ready to scream. They are the pits.

I may have to wake Wayne up. His buddy is planning on coming over to do some work and it is almost 20 to 8. I woke up at 5:45 and came out to the LR. Swept and mopped the bathroom floor, cleaned the sink and stool, pretended not to see cat prints all over the shower as it is a LONG tedious job to get down and clean it, swept the kitchen floor, and even emptied the bathroom waste basket. (A hated chore).

After chiropractor appts this afternoon, we hope to finish shopping, get the tree, get wrapping paper at the Dollar Store, and come home. Task tomorrow is to wrap presents and set up the tree. It will be in the sun room. Wayne is not aware, but he is to get out the Christmas stuff and ornaments so I can decorate the tree. (He refuses - hates to decorate it - only puts the lights on - if it were up to him we would not have one unless it came pre-decorated.)

Tina, feel free to move these comments to the back of the line if you want to post some pix, etc. I had good intentions and had some Silver Dollar City pictures to add, but that is the way of the world. Have a good day.

Karen, you did a lot of shopping indeed. Poor you. Sorry it wiped you out. Your dinner sounded yummy. I love chicken fried steak and eggs. I wish I could teleport Fred to your house. He LOVES to wrap presents and will gladly do that chore for you. Of course, the recipient may never unwrap the gift...he overdoes the taping. LOL Oh no on Wayne dozing while driving. Glad he felt well enough to navigate the roads yesterday. I do believe all the naughty kitty activity is because of the disruption of routine. Molly is still stalking the tree and I have all the ornaments 3 feet off the ground. (That stretching nose.....) I had to giggle at the description of A.C.'s shape. Nice price on the grinder and I do believe the warranty is worth it considering your experiences.

I'm going to get my nails done before they fall off from growth. They are long. Fred found hair color on the sale rack at Walmart, so apparently I will be a light beige blonde later today.

We ate chili again last night. It was worth a second pass around for dinner. I'm not sure what I'm fixing tonight. I do have some chicken thighs I could thaw. It is going to reach the low 80's today. Skies are clear and blue. Almost salad supper weather, but that won't fly with Fred.

Karen, I wondered where your pictures were. Doggone internet. No worries, I don't have any new pics. Threads don't require pictures. Just lots of chatter.

We are still trying to get a star on the top of the tree. It is heavy and the tree top does not like it. It sags. It's funny. Shades of a Charlie Brown tree in my living room. Fred hates to put the ornaments on the tree. He won't even fluff the branches.

It sounds like you did have a very productive trip though Karen and it's nice that you got so many gifts purchased! I was going to say "Take it easy today" and you'll be good as new shortly! But then I got to the part where you've already done all that cleaning and you also have Chiropractor appointments AND more shopping to do this aft!. Wow! Nice on the grinder. Jim's not a huge fan of decorating the tree either. He used to be in charge of putting on the lights as well. But then we realized that one of the advantages to having an artificial tree is that we can just leave the lights on from year to year, so now he doesn't even have to do that. :) He will help me initially but then sits back with his Rum and eggnog and watches me finish. He claims there are too many ornaments to fit on the tree. :) Loved hearing about your meal at Rte. 66 last night. What a cool place! Gas is low here too! (Wish the diesel prices would follow!)
Nails and a hair do Tina. Very nice! I'm going to make Chili dogs for dinner this evening. Good game food.

Good morning:) We were up at 5..fed the kittys their brekkie, had a cup of coffee, Rick is exercising..I'm sitting on my bum doing some EOM stuff in the office:) I'm exercising my brain hahaha..
It's still sprinkling lightly..we had around 3 inches yesterday..there is a bit of flooding in certain parts of the valley..glad we live on a mountain..

Karen, did you get the sunroom leak fixed? I know what you mean, shopping wears me out and for some reason makes my back ache..take care:) Rest a bit if you can:)

Tina, I usually throw some meat into a salad and THEN Rick considers it dinner..LOL Have fun getting your nails & hair done:)

Janet..yummo on chili dogs..indeed, excellent game day food! Are you getting any more snow? I wish, just once, to have a white Christmas...:)

Dinner will be Enchilada Casserole and a salad:)

Morning!! Ugh Karen I can imagine how you feel today after shopping all day yesterday. I can only go a couple hours before I'm ready to head home. Sounds like you got a ton of gifts though! Don't do too much today!

I love that Fred loves to wrap presents Tina!!! Is he any good at it? I do like wrapping presents, but after like 3, I'm over it. I like to have most of the kids presents (even from Santa) wrapped, just because it's way more fun to open the gifts, rather that them just be sitting out. I'm having some leftover chili for lunch today :) Chicken thighs sound good!

That's one thing I'm looking forward to about a fake tree Janet, is leaving the lights on! That's one thing I make Michael do though, but then I end up helping because we always get a huge tree and it ends up being a two person job. Yum Yum on chili dogs :)

Lol at exercising your brain Marie :) Enchilada casserole sound delish!

It's looking like we may not get much of a Winter! Just peeked at the 10 day forecast and it's all between 65-80's lows and highs. Fine with me! I do have a Winter garden outside though in need of cool weather, so we will see how it all plays out. Some stuff is doing well, and some stuff is suffering a bit. I'm finally feeling back to normal today, did a work out with no problem today although I did hold back on the jumping around a bit as I didn't want to rustle anything in my stomach up. Mostly stuck to weights and lunges. Going to run to Sam's to pick up a few things including a bunch of fruit for the juicer! I juiced myself a simple glass of carrot/orange juice yesterday and Caiden a glass of apple/pear and orange. We both enjoyed it and he asked if he could have more, but I had already washed it. I promised I'd make him more today :) I pulled out a whole chicken, and not sure what I'm going to do with it yet, my spatchcock it? It's my new favorite thing, can you tell?! Lol. Have a good day everyone!

So do all husbands hate decorating the tree? We have not succumbed to buying an artificial one because of liking the "real" ones, plus the cats prefer them, also. Luckily for us our dogs have not anointed any trees inside. Really do prefer female dogs. Homer has been well behaved inside, I think he was an indoor dog at one time. Or he caught on extremely fast.

Tina, I usually buy Dollar Tree wrapping paper at $1 per roll instead of 3.98 per roll at the stores, and/or their $1 decorated bags with $1 tissue paper. I am a cheapskate when it comes to wrapping. I like it to look decent but am not going to overspend when it is just the family. None of us has an artistic bone in them. Wayne's buddy's present will go under the tree in back of the others - he doesn't know he is getting one. I think I should pick up some hostessy type gifts for unexpected drop-ins. Our one neighbor sometimes gives us candy or she does some crafts. Or whatever. I bought some cute potholders for youngest GS to give his Sunday School teacher.

Wayne's buddy is here so I will see you later.

You're having another busy day Marie! Exercising your brain TOTALLY counts. Jus' sayin'. :) No more snow since yesterday. A few flurries are forecast for Saturday. As always, I'm very willing to share. :)
I could have used Fred here this morning then Tina. I just finished wrapping up my parcel to head to Alaska. :)
Ya, I agree Michelle...you HAVE to wrap presents. Leaving them sit out isn't an option. :) Good for you on your workout. Had to laugh out loud when you said "Lunges". Don't think I've ever lunged in my life. Well....maybe if I'm going in for a Christmas treat. LOLOLOLOL.
I always buy my tissue paper at the Dollar store Karen. Indeed you can get great prices on such things and there's no need to overspend when it gets ripped off in two seconds flat Christmas morning. :) When I was first married I'd painstakingly wrap presents. I remember making my own wrapping paper with brown paper and then I used large stamps dipped in metallic paint to decorate them. Little spruce twigs and berries and such as a finishing touch. I used to be a huge Martha Stewart fan, prior to her getting thrown in jail. LOLOLOL. I like having hostessy gifts on hand as well. Cute idea re: the pot holders for the Sunday School teacher.

Yeah Janet, I need to exercise my brain whenever I get the chance..there are plenty of cobwebs up there..Rick has lost over 35 lbs by exercising every morning for about 7 months (slowly but surely)..I've lost 15 by doing absolutely nothing different :-D I must be eating less...anyway, his back doesn't bother him as much as it used to when he works..that's a big plus:)

The Christmas tree is up..it's not a real tree but Bribie still tries to eat it..she's a crazy one for sure...now..let it snow:)

I have grey charcoal sparkle nails with a snowman, snowflakes and dots. You have to see them. Hair came out a little light. Hot dogs through the garden, Chicago style for me, sauerkraut for Fred and macaroni salad. I went househunting after my nail appointment. I do believe I found the neighborhood that will appeal to all.

Men and trees, Bah Hambug! But Fred was the Clark Griswold of 14th Street, (BT). An electrician that lit up 35 feet of palm trees. And we had 7 mini trees in 1100 feet of house. All for our boy.

I'm joining you on the tired, now.

Well I got my SIL's parcel mailed off. Cost me over $40. Seriously? I really think I'm going to have to quit sending these parcels to people. $40 is just too big of a hit. I hate to say it but I may have to resort to gift cards or online shopping from now on. Which is a real shame as I know both my SIL and my Mom LOVE getting all these little gifts to unwrap that I've carefully selected for them. I'll probably keep doing it for my Mom no matter what, but...it is a shame the postage is so very high now!
Way to go Rick on the 35 lb. loss. That's a lot! And you've lost 15 too Marie. Good for you. I'm very envious. Now that I'm not travelling so much I should start eating better. When I was away I really ate whatever the heck I wanted so now should be be better. LOL. Hurray the tree is up as well. I think we'll do our Sunday.
Your nails sound adorable Tina. Do take a pic for us. I'm sure your hair looks lovely. Yum on the hot dogs. Nice you found an appealing neighbourhood as well.
I got a lot of Christmas cards and letters done up today. My eyes are starting to go weird. :)

For all the Pinterester's......what do you think of these new "Picked for you" pins? It kind of freaks me out a little but.....I bet Stephen King could come up with a good story based on this. :)
Also....has anyone used packaged muffin mixes? What normally do you have to add to them? My Mom buys them to make up for her breakfasts and I thought it might be fun to make some gourmet muffin mixes for her. Any ideas? But I'm not sure what a normal muffin mix makes her add so I'm curious.
Snuggled in by a fire. Our old Captain of the Ottawa Senators Daniel Alfreddson left us a year ago and joined Detroit. It was a bad move on both his part and the Sens Owner/managers IMHO. Anyway....he is having problems with his back and decided to retire. The Sens actually re-signed him to a one day contract today and he is back in Ottawa to announce his retirement. Jim and I watched the news conference this morning. Very nice. He's going to do the pre-game skate with the team before tonight's game vs. the Islanders. Very emotional. Ya....I'm a big suck...and a big Hockey fan....:)

Just checking in to let you know I've had a heart attack. I was admitted to the Perth Hospital last Sunday morning and there wasn't any internet service in ICU. They sent me to KGH [Kingston General Hospital] yesterday to have an angioplasty done. However, they couldn't do it and I am now scheduled for at least double if not triple heart bypass surgery on Monday. I am not sure if they transfer me to KGH Saturday or Sunday yet. I am on my laptop which I HATE USING! I figured I better let you know what was happening.
I will keep you posted when I can. Wish me luck on Monday please!

Hope you are feeling okay and that they're keeping you comfortable. Poor Den must be beside himself! Do keep in touch if you can and give Den your password or have him email me or whatever. Sending up MAJOR prayers for Monday. No worries there.

    Thanks Kimmer & Janet
    Lost my post grrr!
The Ottawa Civic could not take me soon enough as they are under construction. The KGH is a learning training Hospital and they have an excellent Cardio Unit. I have met my Cardiologist already. A nice young man named get this! Dr. Payne. He will have to cut open my rib cage to get at my heart Both my Dad and brother had the same surgery done and they both lived for several more years b/c of it.
