Time to Travel Thursday

    God morning.

Missed your post, Laurie. Nice of you to bring a gift for your boss.

We are trekking to Springfield and hopefully will finish most shopping. Middle GS is in the army and wants / needs kitchen stuff. So maybe Bed Bath and Beyond? Daughter was not Specific. Oldest one may get Bass Pro thermal socks since he lives in Montana and walks or bikes to work in snow. Wayne is impossible. I will haunt TJ Maxx of course.

As soon as Wayne walks Fritz we will leave. Probably take my car because it is easier to maneuver in city traffic.

Bought two comfy throws as early Christmas presents. I am curled under one and it is cozy warm. It is a subdued red and blacke lumberjack pattern with a fleece lining.

Must go. Time to move out. See you later.

Good Morning Karen! Have a fun jaunt to Springfield and good luck with your Christmas shopping. I think I'd like a pair of Bass Pro thermal socks too! :) I love the sound of your new lumberjack red and black throw. I'm still giggling over Mozart balls.

That's really neat that your Service Contract guy for the car runs a farm animal rescue Linda. You should go visit it. :)

It's -1C/30F here this morning. We got a light skiff of snow overnight. LOTS of deer in the yard. When Jim and I were out two nights ago in the hot tub we heard this weird noise behind us. I jumped over right next to Jim. It's a disconcerting thing to be sitting in a tub of hot water in the dark with something scary near by. Can you say VULNERABLE? LOLOL. We listened closer and then saw the outline of a big deer going by. It was a male, doing that grunting noise looking for females to mate with. I was relieved when he just kept going.

So today is housecleaning day for me. Once I get that done I'll reward myself by baking a batch of cookies. On Michelle's recommendation I'm going to try
    Lemon Meltaway Cookies

    Wishing everyone a great day!

    Good Morning Everyone.

Have fun shopping Karen and wishing you a safe, hassle free drive. I love Bass Pro Shop. We have one very close and I like going even if to just look around. The throw sounds very nice. I too like the pattern.

The farm animal rescue is about an hour away Janet and not much to see in that they are just starting. They have 2 cows coming in soon, 2 pigs, a handful of cats, 4 dogs, and some ducks. Not sure if there are any more critters. I want to offer some advice but will keep my mouth shut. When you look at the site it the first thing you see are my service guy and his BIL ... I think featuring the animals would be better. Too each rescued animal or group should be linked with their pictures and stories. I'll have to think of a "creative" way to say something so he thinks it's his idea to maybe change the site up a little. I really want them to succeed and they are doing good and I don't want to be a "downer". They want to raise money to buy a 20 acre plot next to the 10 they have now so they can take in more animals.

My service guy is Randy and he is in the blue shirt.

Oh my on "things that go bump in the night". It is unnerving to hear things and not be able to see them. So cool on the deer visiting! You have your very own Wildlife sanctuary! I too need to clean today and will force myself to drag out the carpet cleaner. I really have to do my office room and our bedroom and it's closet. I have DH to help so no excuses.

Morning! Good luck with you shopping trip Karen!

Lol at the deer scaring you, I would have jumped out of my skin as well! Yay, I hope you enjoy the lemon meltaways! They are very fragile so be careful when moving them to a cooling rack and when decorating. After a few I got the hang of it :)

I agree with you Linda that the animal rescue should make their main focus when you open up their website as the animals. They'll figure it all out I'm sure. Good luck with cleaning! We have carpet in the bedrooms only and it looks horrible, so stained!

The architect sent us his new sketch yesterday and we were so nervous to open it up. We finally did and he had managed to somehow cut down over 1000 sq. Feet and it's not even that noticeable! That's his job though and it looks fantastic and we are super happy and excited :-D. It's on the max size of our preferred sq. Footage but I don't care, it's perfect. Can't wait to figure out a way to show it to y'all :)

I didn't end up making a week meal plan the other day so I pulled out ground beed and don't know what I'm doing with it lol. I'm thinking maybe sloppy Joe's but I don't have the buns. Michael and I are doing some Christmas shopping today so we could just swing by the store I guess. Wishing everyone a great day!!

I love the Farm Rescue's pigs Linda. :) I agree with you as well that the animals should be forefront on their web page as opposed to the guys. I'm sure you'll figure out a diplomatic way to say something. Working in retail my entire life I often bite my tongue when I'm in a shop as there are things I see that I know would sell better if they did certain things. LOL. Good luck with your house cleaning.

Morning Michelle! Oh I'm so glad you are pleased with the new plans. That's awesome! Have fun Christmas shopping!!!!

Jim and I had a lovely tomato cheese omelette with hot sauce for breakfast. We're going to grill up a couple of tenderloins for dinner. I have asparagus as a side and I'll see if Jim also wants a potato.

Michelle or Joce or anyone involved in the IMI and Reviews groups.....Question...I'll post a review of the Lemon Meltaway cookies on the IMI tomorrow. Since I know Michelle has already reviewed it there, do you prefer if I just add on to her review or do you prefer if I make up a new one? Let me know. :)

We only have carpeting in the bedrooms too Michelle, the main living areas are tiled. Carpets are now all cleaned. The worse part is cleaning the machine after but it's done and it's now outside drying. DH was a big helped. He vacuumed and moved things that were on the floor and then I cleaned with the carpet cleaner.

That's super awesome Michelle the architect was able to deliver. Having more room is better than not enough. Is your home going to be one or two stories? Yum on Sloppy Joes! Have fun Christmas shopping.

Tenderloins sound great too for dinner. I had one last night when we went out. I was craving meat, couldn't remember the last time I had a filet so got a petite filet and a small lobster tail. Even dipped the filet in the melted butter.

Joce ... how are you feeling today?

We don't have any carpeting but we do have two area carpets, one in the family room and one in the living room. Jim offered to vacuum for me today and part way through, the vacuum died! And it's a Dyson. Very odd! I've finished house cleaning with the exception of the bathrooms. Jim got busy down in the store room and cedar closet and got a lot of cleaning done there. Goes a lot quicker with two at it that's for sure.

Just warming up some soup for lunch. Then I get to make my cookies this afternoon. Yay! A much nicer job than house cleaning.

Oh my goodness. My back is killing me!!!! The floor cleaning did me in today I'm afraid! Got the house entirely clean. Then I made the Lemon Meltaways. They're very nice. Then I packaged up the Christmas parcel for Jim's sister in Alaska. We always get her a ton of stocking stuffer items and I individually wrap each one. I bought her about $100 worth of items and the postage cost me $36. Ai yi yi. That hurts. :(

Jim's making us a fire. Joce...hope you went to the Dr. today!

Ouch on the death 💀 of your Dyson Janet. How long have you had it? Sounds too like you need a good soak n your hot tub. Hope you back feels better by tomorrow. Shipping is outrageous! isn't it.
I grilled a steak for dinner and split it with DH. Made a big tossed salad and steamed some asparagus. I'm going to use up just about everything I have before going grocery shopping. Need to cycle things thru.

I'm guessing I bought the Dyson about 7 years ago. When I managed the Hardware store I used to get anything I bought at cost. So I stocked up on a few things before I retired, :) Didn't get to the Hot Tub this afternoon but I popped a couple of Tylenol and that's helping. Your dinner sounds fabulous Linda!

Okay Michelle. Shall do. Thx. Have fun decorating the tree.

Boo on the vacuum cleaner dying. The best one I ever owned was a rainbow, finally bought a new one and it is even better. They cost an arm and a leg but are really worth it. Hope yours can be fixed, ha ha on the grunting deer. The bucks can be unpredictable....when I surprised the big one (and had no gun) I don't know which of us was more shocked. Thankfully he melted away into the forest. Forestry Dept. has set traps for wild pigs, about 6 or 7 miles from us. So far they caught 20. There must be hundreds around our place.

So cool on the sanctuary for farm animals, Linda.

Nce on the architect plans being so good, Michelle.

We had a good time. Just a few more gifts omget. I bought candles for the board members at T J Maxx, plus assorted other stuff. Got a toaster oven for Middle GS and having daughter order Oldest GS what he wanted, a warm face cover for when he goes to work. Then stopped at the outlet in Lebanon and bought 8 settings of Spode Christmas dinnerware, with the Christmass tree on them. They were marked way down.

Daughter texted from work. She has what GS had, fever, ache, etc. Well, he had
called her and said he needed ibuprofen and was out of cough drops, she panicked or misunderstood so we ended up coming home early to get him the meds. He was fine, not worse, and she just needed to tell him she would pick up cough drops and bring them home. Wasted trip.

It is around 20 F and will drop to the teens tonight. Tomorrow may be down to 13F.

Yikes on all the pigs Karen? Are they wild pigs or boars? They can be troublesome especially when there are no larger predators to control the population. It sounds like shopping worked out well. Good!
