Tomatillo Tuesday

  • chuckieb 11 years ago
Good Morning Everyone! I'm up early today as I have a Dentist appointment at 8! (What was I thinking?) :) And it's a filling! Ugh. Haven't had to get one of those in a long time.
Going to run some errands and then meet up with my girlfriend for lunch at
    http://baanthaibistro.ca/
I usually get the Red Curry! :)
I am thawing some hamburger as I think I'll probably make
    Meatball Soup
for dinner this evening and I even have a loaf of
    White Bread
down in the freezer from the last time I made it that would go with it quite nicely.
Marie....hope you are feeling a little better this morning?
Tina, hope you managed to get a decent sleep last night.
And to everyone else......have a Great Tuesday!

Hi Janet:) Funny Rick is at the dentist for a cleaning right now..I had an appt for a filling (replacing an older filling actually) for Thurs, but i just called to cancel..& reschedule since I have a cold. Meatball soup sounds good!!! I still trying to figure out what to make for dinner..thinking lasagna since I have noodles leftover from the pierogi lasagna..amd since the 2 are completely different why not? Just put Pineapple Pound Cake in the oven...so I have dessert figured out at least:)

Tina, how is your ankle ??? Hope it's not painful..

Lori, Joce, Michelle, Laurie, Laura, Kimmer,Dahlia, and everyone else, have a great day!

Janet, Have a great day after you are through with the dentist of course. I hope the freezing has come out by the time you have your lunch today. That meatball soup recipe looks lovely and would be just perfect with homemade bread too!

Marie, Sending the germ squad to get rid of your nasty cold for you:) I also totally bookmarked that Pineapple Pound Cake as well. I have been on a run of pineapple things lately. I tried Pineapple Honey Chicken
last week and I should probably give a review when I get a chance. I found it too sweet for my liking but Den thought it was O.K. I served it over plain veggies rice but still found it too sweet for me. Maybe I will try another recipe like it that doesn't call for extra sugar and honey. Making roasted chicken breasts with tators and veggies for dinner. I have to go get my hair cut this afternoon before we get another snow storm which is heading our way again:(

    Have a great day everyone!!!

    Rainy day.today, kind of dreary.
Had to laugh at the tomatillo reference....I was just reading a recipe for a Pickled Mary that called for a roasted tomatilo veggie juice. It was from Bobby Flay's Bar Americain cookbook.Lot of work but it sounded tasty,

Marie, I think you can get by with lasagna, totally different flavors, Double yum on the pineapple pound cake. Still limping along with the ankle. Have a yummy day. Hope your head cold is easing up a bit!

Janet, ouch on the dentist so early. I did the same for tomorrow, 8:00 a.m. blood work. Why? I did sleep a bit better because it is so dreary out. Dogs were quiet so that helped. Yum on lunch and dinner. Red curry!! Meatball soup, i must try that one soon,

Joce, I probably wouldn't care for "too" sweet either, Have a nice haircut pampering. I saw a roasted chicken breast with extra lemon and rosemary "somewhere" that I want to try. More snow? stay safe.

Hello to everyone....hope life is well.

Tina, I am pleased you had a better sleep last night. Actually I was wondering if you had ever tried one of those oxygen plug in units that when you turn it on it concentrates the oxygen like this unit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxygen_concentrator
I would imagine you can rent one to try and if something like that works for you? It would be less expensive and hassle paying for oxygen tanks and delivery all the time. Den's Mom was on oxygen for over 40 years b/c of emphysema and apparently for a long time she just used a unit like that one before she was on the big oxygen tanks all the time. Just hoping it may help you get a better night's sleep. I am going to guess you have been diagnosed with narcolepsy or something along those lines? Hoping you have an excellent shift tonight too!

Hi Guys! I'M STUFFED! Did indeed choose the Red Curry chicken and also had a couple of shrimp rolls as well. It's lovely and warm out. You can feel spring in the air.
Dentist appointment went well. I was in and out of there in half an hour! Couldn't believe it. When I left the top left of my lip was numb and my nose! ROFL! It felt so weird! But by lunch time it had disappeared, so I did fine.:) Grabbed some groceries and went and got my haircut too! :)
Your Pineapple pound cake sounded yummy Marie as does Lasagna.
Hope you had a good hair-do appointment as well Joce. I have the car tomorrow too as I have a Dr.'s appointment just to check on my lungs from the pneumonia and get the results from that lung function test I did and I'm really hoping that snow bypasses us!
That's a long list of conditions alright Tina. You do amazingly great despite of all of that. Have a really good shift tonight. When I first read your lunch items I thought I read "Clam and fried egg sandwich". LOL. Add the chowder word and it sounds much more appetizing! :) LOL!
Brought in the cookies for my Girlfriend and the staff at the Hardware store and had a good catch me up at both places. Even had time to pop into the Dollar store and grab a couple of decorations for St. Patty's Day.
Got a quick message from Lori on FB. I'll copy and paste it.
"Haven't been to ODD...something wrong with my back, I don't know what I've done. Haven't been able to sit for more than a few minutes at a time. Going to Neurosurgeon with Bryan this morning, then I am going to the dr this afternoon. I went to the walk in clinic Saturday, and it was a waste of time and money. Tell eveyone hi for me! hope all are well!"
Poor Lori! Goodness, first Bryan and now her! Sending good thoughts their way for the both of them. Hugs!

By the way Tina, that "Pickled Mary" sounds awesome! I have never heard of and certainly never seen "Roasted tomatillo veggie juice". Can you actually buy that where you are?
Told my girlfriend at lunch today that I'd seen both a Grapefruit tree and an orange tree this past trip in California.....she was all shocked and said "I thought they could only grow those things in Florida!". :)

Tina the oxygen from the air condensers work well. Mom had one and it did the job for her. Kevin came over and was an enormous help getting dads garden in shape. Unlike me he has nofear of powered tools. He gave his gas trimmer a real workout. The overcast day made for perfect conditions outside. The rain finally came and I packed it up. Wanted to be around some people so I am sitting in coronas now sipping an innis and gunn ale.

Went freezer diving again and we will be having baked burritos with mashes pink beans and a salad for dinner.

It's a treat for us Canucks to see Citrus trees Marie as I've never seen one here. They are truly magnificent.
That was good that Kevin was a big help in the garden Laura. Sounds like a very nice and productive day. And now you get a bit of R&R. Baked burritos sound good.

I've seen it before on pages I've gone to for say....looking up Taipei, or travel destinations where English isn't the national language. I think it is a Google function? Could be wrong.
