Too bad only Tuesday!

    Good morning all
We leave on Thursday but the vow renewal isn't until the 28th. I told Frank we didn't plan right because a week of all you can eat gourmet food and drink and then trying to fit into my dress. His response. " bring Spanx".
I think that the reason the chiro hadn't been doing that machine was because of the fibro like inflammation but the inflammation I am happy to say is down a lot. So much so he couldn't believe it. A few weeks ago I started drinking a concoction of fresh ginger, local honey and lemon every morning. At the suggestion of a coworker who also has hashi. After about a week I really started noticing a difference. And the chiro noticed it at well. When I told him what I was doing he said. Well let's not test it out by stopping! So I am schlepping some ginger with me to Jamaica lol
Some pictures from the last trip

Good Morning Laurie! Lovely pictures to start the day! We've never been to Jamaica but I'd love to go sometime. One of Jim's cousins married a girl from Jamaica and they go back to visit family a lot! Lucky things! Have a marvellous trip. That's great your inflammation is down so much! Your concoction sounds quite tasty.
Awesome on the chicken fortress Karen! I remember my Mom had a weasel get in to the chicken coop once. But apart from that instance she had no troubles and raised chickens for many years. She sold her eggs to customers in town. She still has (as far as I know) all her old egg candling apparatus and the scale that told her whether the egg was deemed medium, large or extra large.
We have a guy coming today to look at our pellet stove. It's not igniting properly and we've replaced almost every single part recently so if there is something wrong then it should be under warranty at least.
I think I'd like to take a spin into town this afternoon. Peek at a garden centre and pick up a couple of groceries. Not sure what to do for dinner this evening.

    Good morning!

Laurie, you are right about inflammation- it is behind a lot of problems. I guess the key is using fresh lemon and ginger, also staying with raw honey, not the pasteurized, from China, stuff you find in the grocery. I am tempted to try it. I'm sure you will have a wonderful time at the resort! Don't worry too much about the dress! I'm sure it will still fit!

Janet, have a good trip to the garden center! Wayne will be off running errands but his buddy is here working. I need to call and make an appt. with the vet for the morning for initial shots for the kittens.

Two kitties ran amuck this morning for an hour and a half before crashing on my lap. They are now locked up for a while so I can get some work done. A.C. has mellowed and even seems to want to play with them, but my trust level is not too high, esp. if one of the holy terrors corners him. Trouble backs off when he swats at her, Mauser stands her ground. Mel escapes to the bedroom, and still snubs me when smells kittens on my jeans...he did curl up on my lap for few minutes but then remembered THEY had been there and stalked off to get on Waybe's lap and glare at me. So funny! He walks past the bathroom door when they are put away, and hisses. Jealous!

Great your concoction is helping you, Laurie. LOL@ Frank saying to bring Spankx:) I don't think Den would even know what that is:) Excellent pics of Jamaica! I know you are going to have a wonderful time. Take lots of pics please.

Bummer on your pellet stove acting up again, Janet:( I hope it all gets fixed up this time. Have fun at the garden center this afternoon. Did you know we had a tornado warning yesterday afternoon? We sat out on the patio and watched the storm until it started to rain. The sky looked pretty cool actually. We didn't get much rain it only lasted maybe 15 minutes. At least it got rid of some of the humidity.

Shona, How is poor Jersey doing today? Did Pete take over so you could get some rest and get rid of your migraine? Sending more soothing healing Hugs)))

Karen, How are your kittens today?

Kimmer, Yes the more you move and exercise the better you will feel with arthritis. It takes me some time to get going but the more I move the better I feel. Try to stay away from chocolate as well as it is another nasty irritant for arthritis. Bummer eh!

Tina, How are you doing today?

    Marie, Thinking of you. HUGS)))

I am a bit more stiff and sore today than usual. Perhaps it is from the humidity? I would like to plant some things today if I feel a bit better this afternoon. We are having boneless chicken done in a marinade I discovered last week we really enjoy. It is in a bottle by Club House Spices called Montreal Chicken Marinade. I am not sure what we will have along with that maybe a salad or something like that?

Sending Magical Mystical Healing to all!

    Good morning ladies:)

Janet, so glad to hear your doing so well after your mouth surgery:)

Karen, I am so sorry to hear that Homer passed...he looked like he was a very good dog..and he knew he was so very loved..

Joce, thank you...sending a big hug your way:) Sure hope your soreness goes away soon...

Tina, hope all is well your way..I've been thinking of you my dear:)

Hi Michelle:) I'm sure you have been busy..have any of those bad storms been any where near you guys?

Laurie..oh how I wish I could just get away to a tropical island...sigh...

I can't catch up at the moment, we have another septic company coming to give us our 3rd bid for a new septic system..can you believe it? It's old and we have tree roots to boot, very hard ground..that spells new septic apparently:( the first bid was $4000..a guy Rick knows gave us a bid for $3000..do I hear $2000? haha

Dinner will be Janet's yummy Chicken Parmigiano with spaghetti and garlic bread:)

Have a lovely day all..sending you all a big HUG!

SP Joce! I didn't even know what Spankx were until a few years ago! :) No, I didn't hear about the Tornado warning. We sure got some big storm clouds though! We didn't get much rain either and boy do I hear you on the humidity! Everything was sticking to the floors, etc. Crazy. It is possible the weather is making you ache more than usual. Take good care. Yum on your chicken. I need to go retrieve something from the freezer. Hear, hear to Magical Mystical Healing! :)

I took my sleeping pill much too late. After that wild hockey game.....so I didn't fall asleep til 2:00 am or so. Just got up 3/4 of an hour ago. Fed the dogs, watered the dogs and caffeinated myself. Want to go back to bed. Have to make Dr. appts, first.
I have yet another comforter to wash and get the guest bedroom "made up"

Scotty and Liv put together my Overstock.com furniture for the living room. The worn out couch and chairs are curbside. Other than a dust and Murphy's oil for the wood, it looks 180 degrees better. Liv is supposed to go to the bank for me today. She was in an UGLY mood yesterday. Snapped at me every five seconds. Truly not fun. And I bought her, her favorite chicken poppers.

Lol @ spanx. I think your magic drink does a better job than mine. I love the ginger steeped in anything.

Be good at the garden center. Like Karen says, it will wait.

Good luck making your appointments Tina. Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well. Nice that Scotty and Liv got your furniture set up. What did you get again? CRAFT.
The pellet stove guy is here but of course the problem didn't replicate itself. LOL. He had a couple of suggestions so we'll try that. He's also going to give the chimney for the fireplace a sweep while he's here. Jim has headed back outside to mow.

Great pictures Laurie! We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon. Stayed at Sandals in Ocho Rios...best time of my life! I know your gonna have a blast :)

Hope the guy can fix your pellet stove for you Janet. Have a good time today!

It's good to hear all the cats seem to be getting along Karen!

Hope you loosen up some Joce :( Enjoy your chicken tonight!

So glad you popped in today Marie!! Hehe crossing my fingers you can get a bid less than $3000 :P Super yum on that chicken parm. It's a good one! We haven't had any huge storms...we were having flood warnings a couple days ago, but nothing came of it.

Have some cleaning to do...need to unload the dishwasher, fold clothes, vacuum, mop blah blah. Ugh! We have a easy going night tonight...was thinking about making some red beans and rice for dinner but I cannot for the life of me find the bag of red beans! I know I picked some up a couple months ago, in fact I remember Michael grabbing them for me and throwing them in the basket. Okay off to rummage through the pantry lol! Have a great day everyone!

I MISSED MARIE! SP BIG TIME! :) So tickled you checked in. Sorry to hear about the Septic needing to be replaced. Roots are a common problem in our area as well. We get a guy over every second year to clean and inspect. Crossing my fingers that you can find a lot lower quote. Hate spending big money on things that aren't 'fun'. :) Tickled also that you're having my Chicken Parm tonight.
Good luck with your house cleaning Michelle. Glad to hear you can relax a bit tonight. LOL @ losing the red beans. I do stuff like that all the time and it drives me crazy. :)
Decided we're going to head in town and grab some lunch while we're there. It's so gorgeous out!

Appt made for shots etc for two kittens. I will have to let know about Homer then, also. He was microchipped so they may have to do something with that information. Got to thinking about History, the corgi mix who died last year. It has been a bad year for pets.

DW is running. Egg salad 🐣 is made for lunch. Potatoes are cooked and in a colander waiting for me to decide what to do. Either baked with some cheese or just do potato salad or maybe sauté in ??? flavored oil with some fresh from the flowerbed spices. Will get some chicken thighs 🐔 out to thaw later or maybe just sausages. It is an indecisive day. Sigh!

Michelle, I agree it so frustrating to not find something you are so CERTAIN you had. I hate it when I do that

The last time we had to put in a septic tank we spent over eight thousand! Yuk! Hope you find a good price, Marie!

Janet, enjoy lunch in town! I almost went with Wayne today but then his buddy was coming over to work so I didn't.

Tina, hang in there. You have a lot on your plate. Enjoy your new furniture - I have forgotten what you ordered already.

Got to go fix lunch. See you later.

I went mid century modern, sleek lines, sloped arms, firm cushions, no loose pillows for dogs to get in disarray. Olivia was horrified that the beige loveseat does not match the mid grey couch. Her OCD is in overdrive with unmatched furniture. My 6x9 area rug, valances and a striped low profile club chair are in coordinated patterns. The rug is plush creme, yellow, grey, light and dark and beige. The low profile club chair is striped in mid grey, beige, yellow, creme stripes with a nailhead trim. The valances are Tommy Bahama palm frond print, in yellows, grey, tan, and taupe. All from Overstock, free shipping, 12-15% off sale items. I earned 150.00 "O" dollars which bought a new lamp and throw pillows, 4 new outdoor light fixtures. New living room without stepping outside the door. It is lighter, brighter and more comfortable than a couch that I could not get out of without assistance.

I want egg salad. I better get busy.

Tina, pictures please! As a visual person, descriptions float midair above my head and I have to work on picturing it. Oh dear, mismatched furniture! Will the world collapse? LOL. Hey, the rug has gray and beige, the 2 unmatched pieces are gray / beige - so it coordinates them simply mah-velously. When it is time to redo our LR, I may have to look at Overstock.com.

Enjoy your egg salad. Mine was rather blah! Like I said, today is an indecisive day! I'm lucky Wayne is easy to please when it comes to food. He will eat either sausage or chicken and be happy.

    Enjoy your egg salad.

Marie, bummer about the septic tank. I hope you end up with a good deal. hugs dear one.

Janet, hope the pellet stove is an easy fix.

Michelle, I love red beans and rice. I hope you find yours. My sister stocked me up with black beans, navy beans, kidney beans, and RED beans. I use my pressure cooker to fix the beans in 1/3 the time.

I have chicken thighs thawing for tomorrow. I'm hoping to grill with the white Alabama sauce.

Tonight is leftover pizza heated in the skillet. A big bowl of chopped romaine with cukes and feta/oil and vinegar.

    Awww, missed you too Janet:)

Michelle, so glad to hear the storms have been missing you..wild stuff going on..

OMG Karen, if it were $8K we'd have us one of them there Ben Rentals (portable restrooms, like they use on construction jobsites) parked out back..LOL Rick & I have been joking about that..we've been watching how much water we use..can't be letting a lot go down the drains since the septic is not working so well..I'm guessing everyone knows what a "Ben Rental" is or is that what we call them here???

Tina, your furniture sounds lovely:) HUGS to you my dearxoxox

Well, the last 2 bids were around $4K so we'll go with the guy Rick knows and try to see if he can get to it a lot sooner than he said.

Rick just landed work from a contractor/realtor who has multiple rentals in Paradise..so he'll be servicing them and fixing any problems that arise..he is also building a new home which Rick will be installing 2 doors/openers on plus other jobs here & there..so he's happy:) We'll need the extra work with this septic business..haha

With all of this egg salad talk going on here today, I JUST HAD to make some as well! So good..I added a little Dijon along with the mayo..made it quite tasty:)

You have had a hard time of it this past year with pets Karen. That's the very hardest part of pet ownership I'm afraid, and like anything...it's unavoidable. Again, you have given them such a wonderful happy home. That's all one can do. I should make Jim some egg salad sandwiches for lunch this week. He just adores them. (He wouldn't say the word 'adore' though) :)
Your new furnishings sound gorgeous Tina. Love the sound of the curtains. Had to google low profile club chairs but I did have the right idea in my head. :) Very cool! I agree with Karen's statement....I'm sure it looks mah-velous! :) Yummers on White Alabama sauce and your salad for this evening also sounds delectable.
I've never heard the term "Ben Rental" before Marie. We just call them "Porta-potties". When my Mom, Dad and I first moved to Rainy River back in 1975 my Dad built our house so we didn't have an 'indoor' toilet for at least a year. It might have been two. We just had a regular old outhouse at the back of the yard. I'd hate the spiders and bugs in the summer time and the freezing ice cold in the winter time, but other than that, it worked just fine. :) Glad Rick is busy. Makes things like unexpected sewer troubles a little less stressful alright.
Jim and I had an awesome lunch at our favourite "All you can eat" Sushi place. We had some Dim Sum dumplings, a great dish of chicken teriyaki, some tempura shrimp and avocado sushi, and, and, and.....At this place you get your loyalty card stamped each time you go and after 10? visits you get a free lunch so we cashed that in today. Fun! :)
Did a quick jaunt over to Ikea. Want to buy some picture frames that we can decorate the guest bedroom with. We want to use some of the nature photos that we took in Taiwan. Ikea had some really neat frames, different sizes, etc. at very good prices. Now I just have to narrow down which pictures to get enlarged. Grabbed some groceries and bought three more plants at the Garden Centre. 2 Fuchsia's and another Petunia.
And....also came across this line of BBQ rubs that I've been wanting to try from ""Fire in the Kitchen Spice Co.". I got a "Smokin' curry" and a "Piri Piri" rub. Plus...I got a bottle of sumac for $4.99. I know we were talking about sumac awhile back and I wanted to try it but now of course I don't remember the dish. Tina? Something makes me think you were talking about it? Anyone? Come to my rescue. :)
Got a short note from Benjamin this morning. It is one of his room mates birthdays so they were heading to a new Cocktail bar located, get this...behind a bookcase in a coffee shop. You reserve ahead of time and then they text you the password to get in. It's based on an old speak easy. The owner got the idea from a bar in NYC called "PDT - Please Don't tell". They make specialty cocktails individual to your tastes. I told him he was livin' the dream. :) Too fun!

Marie, glad you are getting extra work in time to pay for the septic. Don't laugh - my grandparents farms had outhouses and it was COLD in the winter! My daughter has never had the joy of using one - she would lose it if a spider showed up. Guess I started something with egg salad!

Leftover pizza warmed in the skillet is a standard the day after a Papa Murphy pizza run, Tina. They make it and we bake it at home. Usually have leftovers for lunch the next day. Wayne likes the cowboy pizza and I like that and their chicken avocado pizza.

Janet, lunch sounds great. Glad you had a good time!

Yes, losing a pet is sad and we will miss Homer. He was the gentlest dog we have ever owned. But he had a good life, unlike so many abandoned dogs and cats. The kittens are on a living room rampage. Trouble now sneaks up and bats A.C.'s tail. He is not impressed.

Guess it is time to go fix supper. Since I also didn't get the chicken thighs out to thaw, we are having potato salad and sausage. Only I have to doctor up the potato salad.....maybe cut up some green onion and celery to add. Pickle? Not if I ask Wayne, but a good dill pickles does add some flavor. No inspiration whatsoever!

I love dill pickle in a potato salad Karen. Marie turned me on to that.
    Decided to make
    Chicken Katsu
for dinner with maybe an Asian tossed salad on the side. Trimmed the burning bush at the front. So many dead branches since last fall! Still looks good though. Jim's planting grass seed. The breeze is gorgeous.
