Tzatziki Tuesday

Good Morning! It's a bright beautiful sunny day here in SWFL with clear blue skies.

It's the lazy days of summer for sure (at least here). Won't be doing much today other than going to the gym and a stop in the grocery store after.
I'm in the mood for the Mediterranean Turkey burgers I make with Tzatziki sauce and will be picking up ground turkey when at the store along with anything else I need to make them. Will make enough to freeze a few too.

Looking forward to hearing about everyone else's Tuesday. Enjoy!

Morning! Yum on the Mediterranean burger Linda, the tzatziki sauce will be perfect on them :)

Finishing up at the gym then the kids and I are going school supplies shopping, which is always a task because the lists usually have very specific types of binders, folders, notebooks that I can never find all in one location. We may end up eating lunch out depending on how long it takes us. Making this for dinner for the Recipe Challenge Grilled Kung Pao Shrimp, still debating on sides though. Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning. Send me a virtual meatball, please, Linda! Yum!

    Have fun supply shopping Michelle.

Rain is forecast again but as usual it is going North and South. Grrr! There are severe storm warnings in the counties to the South. The sky is just cloudy here.

Wayne is running errands and after he returns we will vote in the Republican primary and some other key state issues. Probably fix the maple pork chops HelloFresh meal for supper. Or grab a bite at Edgar Springs.

How awful on the snake in the chicken coop Karen. I’m so sorry to hear that. ☹ I guess the poultry netting is large enough to let the snake through? Would replacing it with a small size diameter hardware cloth be too expensive or too much work? Where does one go to buy two more chickens? 😊 Ugh on waking up so early yesterday. Hope you got a really good sleep last night to make up for it.

I read the book “Mr. Mercedes” Linda. I can imagine how un-nerving the series might be. 😊 I am three quarters of the way through “The Wolf” by Nate Blakeslee. It’s been a most enjoyable read. The twisty cinnamon rolls sound lovely.

A shame the boys didn’t care for the Cruise ship fare Kimmer but nice they missed their Mom’s cooking. Fun fun if you get to make a trip to see Michael. How far is it to Tennessee and would you drive?

Jim and I had a really nice time with my high school chums out at the lake. It was a lot of fun reminiscing about when we were teens. They did a Walleye fish fry for us with pasta salad and beans. Jim and I ate more Walleye than we should have but it’s such a treat. They cooked up a huge feast for breakfast, sausages, bacon, eggs, hash browns and toast. We didn’t bother eating lunch. The quiche I made for dinner last night turned out fine and there was even a piece left over for Mom to have for her breakfast.

I did not get near enough sleep Sunday night myself but it was self induced and we all stayed up past midnight talking. Felt very wonky yesterday. 😊

Mom has a Dr.’s appointment this afternoon that I am going to bring her to.

Made a big batch of Beef Barley soup this morning. Thursday I am making lunch for 9. I have three cousins and their spouses coming to visit from both Dryden and Fort Frances as well as Mom, Jim and I. Wednesday we are going to be busy from morning ‘til night so thought it best to get the soup done ahead of time.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Yum on your turkey burgers Linda!

I don't envy you doing back to school shopping Michelle but I do envy your dinner plans. Sounds fabulous!

Good luck with your errands Karen and both dinner options sound good!

Ugh on still not getting a good rain Karen. Maple pork chips sound delicious!! Just read back some and OH NO on the poor little chicks :( :(

Sounds like you had a good time with your high school buddies Janet!! Yum on the fried Walleye as well as the breakfast feast :) Good call getting a head start for your upcoming company!

Holy cow, I was able to find EVERYTHING on the kids supply list at just one store! I do still have to get the glue sticks, but that's just because I want to get them at Sam's so it's cheaper. I need 24 sticks between the 2 of them lol.

Decided on just making some rice pilaf to go with the shrimp. I'll skip the rice though and have some leftover brussels sprouts and a salad.

Hi everyone, making stuffed peppers for dinner. I used the instant pot to cook the rice. I did do he water test thanks Kimmer.
Tonight is running but I’m just walking it’s 95 degrees out so no running for me. Still not feeling 100% but I need to exercise.
Stopped by a farm that I drive by on my way home to look at their table. It’s the kind you just leave the money in the box. Got a big bag of “ugly” tomatos for $2.50. I’m going to make this sauce that my mil makes basically tomatoes garlic and basil in a blender and you add over hot spaghetti. Rachel has been asking for it. Also got a huge winter squash for $1 that I might try cooking in instant pot if anyone has tips or recipe.
I also got two huge zucchini for 50 cents each they were maked “yesterday’s” but I didn’t see any difference in the ones that were out for $1.00. I love are farmers mArket but the prices are sky high.
