Whip Up some Wednesday!

Good Morning Everyone! It's unsettled weather today. A little cooler than it's been and they are forecasting a mix of sun and clouds. I'm staying put today I hope. I'd like to make a batch of
    Gingerbread Men
I'm going to use fall leaf and pumpkin shaped cookie cookies and decorate them with orange and yellow icing. I'll give some to friends and I'll also bring a big bunch with us this weekend for everyone to munch on.

Not sure about dinner yet and I'd best figure that out straight away so I can get something thawing.

I checked out that map link you showed us yesterday Marie. I see that Santa Rosa has been devastated which breaks my heart as I have a very big soft spot for Santa Rosa (Home of the Charles Schultz Museum as well as close to a lot of the Sonoma Vineyards). How's the situation look around Chico and Paradise today? Sending prayers.

Yum on your Cheese Night Kimmer and pleased to hear you enjoyed your time in St. Augustine again. Did you get a different Hotel as you'd said previously that you'd found a really nice place but this time you said you weren't pleased.

    Wishing everyone a lovely day!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Happy Wednesday. Looks like a decent day here. Skies are clear (for now) but I don't think rain is in the forecast.

Gingerbread Men sound fun Janet! and with the weather being a little cooler it won't be bad having the oven on to warm the house up not to mention making the house smell great!

Nothing much going on today. Just the usual. Still reviewing health insurance and trying to make up my mind even though I think my mind is made up for me due to costs. Will check back later. Hope everyone is doing well.

Morning! The cookies sound cute Janet :)

Yes, good for you changing insurance Linda, I can't believe how much they expect you to pay!!

At the gym then I need to run to Sam's and the grocery store for a few things. Michael and the kids want me to make them cheesecake pops so I guess I will lol. Need to start doing some deep cleaning around the house. We have company coming on Sunday and I'd like to dust the blinds and baseboards. I think that will take a good chunk of today up then I'll do the windows, floors and clean out the microwave and fridge Thursday and Friday. Lol, we'll call it "Fall Cleaning"!

Pulling out some Italian sausage for dinner, not sure what I'm doing with it yet though. Have a great Wednesday everybody!

I don't know about it being good changing the insurance Michelle. There is only one carrier here. I'm compromising on coverage to get a lesser premium by changing the policy. Really, have no choice. It's like rolling the dice ... how are you suppose to predict what you will use and not use?

Deep Cleaning ... Yep, twice a year here too. It never ends but when it's done it's great! Italian Sausage sound great ... no matter what you do with it.

Morning Linda. I don't envy you wading through all the Health Insurance paperwork and having no good direction to follow. :(

Fun, fun on cheesecake pops Michelle. Is the recipe on GR? I'd love to see a picture. They sound deelish. Good luck with your house cleaning. I need to do a quick one at some point but I think I can procrastinate a little longer yet. Yum on sausage.

Jim wants to go for a jaunt so I think my cookie baking plans are being pushed 'til tomorrow

Your niece will share the same Anniversary with Den and me, Janet. I am glad you were able to find some suitable slacks and have a nice outfit to wear now. How very nice of you to make some fall leaf and pumpkin, gingerbread cookies to bring to the wedding. Are you staying at the cottage or are you staying in a motel/hotel while you are there?
Yes, the wildfires are so scary and doing so much damage! So awful for all those people involved, plus the trees, vineyards, and everything! Good luck deciding what you are having for dinner.

Too bad your room wasn't up to par, Kimmer. I was going to ask the same question, Janet asked. Is it the place where you were more than satisfied with? I hope you enjoyed your cheese night.

Good luck deciding what to do about your insurance, Linda. I agree how are you supposed to know how much you are going to use?

Fall cleaning or deep cleaning is what we call it as well, Michelle. Since Den is home for a couple of weeks I will get him to pull the fridge and stove out and wash down all the walls and cupboards in the kitchen. Also get him to pull all the beds and dressers out as well so all the baseboards and floors get thoroughly cleaned.

Den is bringing his car in for service this afternoon and after we drop the car off we will do a few errands and pick up a few things we need at the grocery store. Dinner will be chicken something as far as I know at the moment.

    Wishing everyone a great day!

Linda, I guess I didn't fully understand the insurance problem your dealing with, I just thought it was expensive and you were changing! Sounds like such a hassle, I'm sorry you have to deal with this :( :(

Here is the cheesecake pop recipe I use Janet: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/164508/cheesecake-pops/ They are fun, but a lot of work to make. Plus if you overcook it and get a brown crust on the cheesecake it will make the balls be lumpy. So I have to take it out at just the right time. Have fun on your jaunt :)

My least favorite is cleaning under the fridge and stove Joce, lol. There's no telling what's under there!!

October is a lovely month to be married in I think Joce. :) Happy Anniversary to you and Den on the weekend. A bunch of us out of town guests have rented rooms at a nearby Motel. It's a cute spot and should be a lot of fun. The cottage is already at full capacity with the Bride and Groom and parents and an Aunt and a and a ........:) Hope the servicing on Den's car went well.

Those cheese pops are adorbs Michelle. I pinned the recipe. That'd be fun to make for Jim's cousin's girls some day.

I ended up having to do some running around for Mom (all in vain too unfortunately) and then we did a run to Costco and to Sobey's. Had lunch at the Cheshire Cat Pub.

Haven't been there in ages. I had the Roast beef and gravy on Yorkshire pudding with fries and Jim had a Club House on Foccacia. SO much food. We've decided to just make Wonton soup for dinner. :)

Whipped up the dough for the Gingerbread cookies and will let it sit in the fridge overnight. It's supposed to sit for 3 hours anyway plus then tomorrow all I have to do is roll, cut, bake and decorate them.

    Hello all:)

Just checking in...can't catch up right now! The fire near us is holding, it's a small fire, but did get close to Paradise..we have cell service back,,,yesterday, Rick forwarded business calls to our landline so I could at least answer them...I just cannot believe this fire season...lives lost, homes burned down..loss of wildlife and pets etc..it is heartbreaking...they are saying we may get rain at the end of next week..fingers crossed.
I do hope everyone is doing well! Talk tomorrow! Have a lovely evening:)

I'm sorry for making you worry! I was going to check in earlier...but one thing after another kept coming up..we are fine, and they have forward progress of the fire under control (it's not moving up the canyon/hill, almost got to Paradise and we are the next "town" up from there), it's in a steep canyon, so even though the acreage is small, it's still taking longer to contain I guess..
Now off to watch something on TV...talk to you all tomorrow:) Sweet dreams:)
