I have to have my mother-on-law's sausage dressing, loaded with sage and onions and the ground gizzards and liver and heart from the bird...indigestion for 2 days after, but so worth the pain!

Oh I am with all of you. I need stuffing. Don't forget the pies. I love thanksgiving more than any holiday. I usually take off all week to bake. I usually end up making 15 or more pies. There are no shortcuts in baking during Thanksgiving.. I even use real pumpking for my pies.

We have to have drunken pumpkin pie, mincemeat pie, delightful apple pie, and Mississippi Mud pie for my brother who lives on Life cereal, pizza and that Mississippi Mud. Dad insists on creamed onions and brussel sprouts with bacon every year.
My younger sister has to have Waldorf salad and she makes a great cornbread stuffing.
I make the cranberries with maple syrup and the sweet potatoes (bourbon and nut crunch) and the dinner rolls. The kids insist on garlic mashed potatoes. And my brother-in-law insists on deepfrying the bird. It is a zoo in that kitchen trying to juggle all the cooks and so little space. But what fun and we keep the traditional dishes coming albeit with a twist or two some years.

What I love about Thanksgiving! Are you going to post the drunken pumpkin pie or delightful apple pie? Love creamed onions and brussel sprouts! I keep traditional but like to add one or two every year!
