As a cook and baker, European Cultured Butter all the way! But we use Vegan, soy free, Margarine for most things now.
    Olive and Canola :)
We use gel or powdered dishwasher tabs
Both! I make my own sauce and freeze it, so I use jarred sauce when we run out.

Margarine for most things because I think it's generally healthier. I buy Becel margarine, which tastes decent and cooks things nicely and isn't watery plus it's spreads well on toast. I do buy butter on occasion for some baking recipes and also to saute asparagus etc. in.

I use olive oil usually for cooking on the stove but use vegetable oil sometimes in baking and I also use peanut oil for cooking some Asian dishes. Rarely use corn but I would have equated it with vegetable. Then you listed Canola oil Marie and out of curiousity I googled that and the link I was on said that Canola is more heart friendly than vegetable oil. Live and learn. The link also mentioned that Canola oil is made from rapeseed which is commonly sprayed with pesticides so warned people to find a brand that is organic and pesticide free. I would have never thought to have looked for organic cooking oil but I guess it makes sense.

I use powder dish soap that is wrapped in little biodegradable plastic pouches as it's less messy than just powder.

I do make a homemade tomato sauce with canned tomatoes but on the whole I just buy jarred tomato sauce.

I use butter. I like the way it melts. I used to use butter, but then it was bad for you so switched to margarine, but now I think butter is good for you again 'cause its natural or something. Who knows why they keep going back and forth on food. But, my dad won't touch margarine so butter it is.
Olive and a canola/vegetable blend are what is in my cupboard. Depends on what I am doing as to which I use.
Dishwasher? No dishwasher at my place. Unless you count me and my two little dishpan hands. :-)
Jarred sauce. Seems I'm always in a hurry when I'm cooking and my time is money (to me) so its "cheaper" to buy the jarred stuff.

Butter, never used any thing else my family never believed it was bad for you.
Olive oil, Vegetable when required. I am rethinking my oils, corn is low cholesterol but gmo, Canola the same thing gmo, I am looking at organics as well.
Just started using the packs and love them. I remember those days Frankieanne. When Bill and I got together I was so thrilled he had a dish washer because I never had one. When it broke I went back to hand washing with little thought. I broke my hand and dish washing was out. After a week of hand washing Bill had a new dish washer installed.
I make my own from the garden and freeze and when we run out I used cans to make my own. Well you know that you have read my recipe.

I use the tablet dishwasher detergent in the little wraps.
I prefer homemade Spaghetti sauce but will use jarred in a pinch (my favorite is Giada's line)

Butter = 'cause I love the taste.
Usually Canola, learning about Olive Oil use = probably 'cause of the price.
Dish washer used for storage :-) = 'cause I grew up doing them by hand.
In my younger, healthier years--home canned and made. Now, usually jarred.

    Butter definitely:)
Margarine is in the fridge b/c my HB likes it on his sandwiches b/c it spreads well. That is the only use I have for it in this house.
Light olive oil (never EVOO), safflower oil, canola oil, oil, peanut oil and coconut oil on occasion for some things.
I make my own sauces etc. with canned tomatoes always. I never buy premade spaghetti sauce or jarred tomato things.
I have an Armstrong dishwasher:) I use liquid Dawn only. No room for a dishwasher here.

Butter - love the flavor and I like to make my own.
Olive oil - again, I love the flavor and also because my grandfather makes his own, so the all family gets several liters every year.
Dish washer soap - the best deal there is in the supermarket
Homemade tomato sauce - my mom grows tomatoes so we make a lot of sauce every Summer.

We use butter, olive oil, once in a while veggie oil if needed in certain recipes. I never agreed with the 1960's fat-free / low fat diet. Figure my grandparents farmed for years and they died in late 80's after years of butter, lard, beef, etc. in their diets. I retired this spring so can return to canning my own tomatoes and sauce again. I use every dish soap that is on sale, plus Dawn for greasy stuff.

Butter, because I can use loads less, and my body knows what to do with it, Naturally.

Olive or canola oil. olive for cooking on the stovetop and in the house, canola for certain salad dishes and for the grill.

    Liquid soap for the dishwasher.

canned tomatoes to make my own sauce.

    Nice post! Good questions!

Lovebreezy, or anyone else. If you have a trader joe's anywhere near you they have their own brand of olive oil (really god stuff better than bertolli, which I used for years until I found this.) for 32 ounces it is 6.99 for 16 ounces it's only 2.99 much better deal. same with the soy sauce and balsamic vinegar.
