How to make it

  • Place all ingredients, except shrimp, in a large pot and bring to a boil. Add shrimp and remove from heat. Let stand about 20 minutes. Strain and reserve cooking liquid and chill shrimp. I do red and white shrimp cocktails. One with standard cocktail sauce and one with the dill sauce that I posted to cool down the shrimp for those that like less heat.

    Thats why I use Habaneros. Thats a lot of liquid and the celery is a strong flavor. You can add the chilies back to the strained liquid to set a little longer. You can mild down the celery by just adding stalks whole. For the real heat lover start out with Spicy hot V8.

    Tried and liked it but not spicy. I used 5 halved jalepeno peppers. Are they supposed to be chopped or something? I could mostly taste the celery. Did I do something wrong?
