Ingredients

How to make it

  • Season the brisket with salt and pepper. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the brisket, brown on all sides, and transfer to a slow cooker. Add the remaining ingredients to the slow cooker and stir well.
  • Slow-cook, covered, until the meat is very tender — 8 hours. Remove the meat, place it on a cutting board, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Reserve the sauce. Carve brisket into thin slices and divide it among kaiser rolls topped with reserved sauce.
  • Serve warm.

I made a similar recipe a few years ago and everyone loved it. Then I lost the recipe. I'm glad you posted this, it's going to be Easter Sunday diner at our house.

Being a Texas girl myself, I recognize a good brisket recipe when I see one. This is awesome. Great post and I too am ready for a brisket sandwich. I'll put the brisket on now and ya'll come over in about 8 hours. LOL

I looked at your brisket version, and it did look good. I'll try yours sometime, I'd give me another excuse to eat brisket, and I love it!!

You did the Texan version -- I did the Jewish mother version. Bet they're both really satisfying. :-)
