This recipe was found in an old trunk that came across the Oregon Trail in the 1800's.
The pioneers used any kind of wild berry, including wild strawberries.
This recipe has been cut down to this small amount from feeding about 120.

Made these today if I could give 10 forks it would not be too many, I shared with another couple and grandchildren and all loved them. I made them sugar free using splenda had to adjust the flour a bit the batter was a bit thin. they were still great and yes I told everyone the history behind them and that made them even better.
