How to make it

  • Marinade steak in what ever tenderizing agent you prefer for desired duration. ( i typically go for a soy sauce/citrus/garlic marinade)
  • cut onion into 1/2 inch rings and caramelize with butter
  • Prepare steak to medium/well done depending on preference.
  • open French loaf to make a sub roll and butter it inside and out.
  • toast buttered French bread in oven for a few minutes until butter is melted and bread is slightly crispy.
  • remove bread for oven, add meat, cheese, dressing, onions. top with asiago, return to oven for a few minutes.
  • turn regularly as not to make bread too crunchy or hard
  • remove from oven when bread is slightly bronzed and enjoy
  • cut up into slices, it doesn't last long
