A schmear of cream cheese on this bread and it's a great breakfast on the go or afternoon snack

Ingredients
- 1 cup dark corn syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 egg
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 cup milk
- Sometimes I add raisins and/or pecans
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325
- In mixing bowl, add corn syrup, brown sugar and egg, mix well
- In another mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients
- Add to egg mixture alternately with milk and mix well
- Pour into greased 9in.x5in. loaf pan
- Bake 75-80 or until toothpick inserted at center of loaf comes out clean
- Cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan and cool completely
