How to make it

  • Line an 8-inch square pan with foil and margarine the foil; set aside. Combine sugar, corn syrup and margarine in a 3 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil slowly for 4 minutes without stirring. Remove from the heat and stir in milk. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until candy thermometer reads 238 ( soft-ball stage ) , stirring constantly. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla. Pour into prepared pan. Cool. Remove from pan and cut into 1 -inch squares. Wrap individually in waxed paper; they now have colored wax paper or use the colored cellophane paper then twist the ends.

    Is the original recipe done with margarine or do you use it for health reasons?
    It is not only a perfect gift, it's a hard one to give. Who wouldn't want to eat some themselves?
    What's waved paper? I've never heard of it.
    If it's a typo, it's a good one as it sounds kid of neat. Waved Paper
    Actually, it sounds high quality expensive.
