Chicken Stroganoff Recipe
Can't remember where I got this from, but we have enjoyed this for years.

Ingredients
  • 3 pound chicken cut up
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3-4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 pound fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 4 oz. uncooked egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350
  2. In a plastic bag combine flour, salt,paprika,and pepper
  3. Shake chicken pieces in flour mixture, a few at a time, to coat evenly
  4. In a skillet melt butterand brown chicken on each side about 10 minutes
  5. Transfer to a 3- quart cassrole dish
  6. In skillet combine broth, mushrooms, onion, and garlic.
  7. Heat to boiling and pour over chicken
  8. Cover and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.
  9. Stir uncooked noodles in with chicken mixture
  10. Bake 30 minutes covered
  11. Remove chicken for baking dish and keep warm
  12. Stir some of the cooked noodles into the sour cream
  13. Slowly add the sour cream mixture to the rest of the noodles and mushrooms still in baking dish
  14. Arrange noodle mixture on a serving plate
  15. Arrange chicken on top of noodles and serve
  16. Great served with a salad and bread sticks

O.K. I made it last night and it was great. Everybody loved it and wants me to make it again tomorrow. I followed the directions but increased the noodles to about 7 ounces. High 5....

Great idea! I was wondering what the chicken dish was going to be this week - now I know! Love that you use uncooked noodles, too. Can't wait to try this.

Thanks for sharing this...my family loves Stroganoff and I do cook a lot with chicken, so this will be a natural fit. Five forks from me.
