Ingredients

How to make it

  • Put oil into skillet over medium heat and add rice.
  • Stir and brown rice till medium brown.
  • Add onions and saute till soft.
  • Add garlic and bell peppers and saute about 1 minute stirring
  • Pour in other ingredients
  • Cover and lower heat to simmer for 15 minutes
  • Turn off heat and let sit 5 minutes.
  • Crack the lid when this is done or you will have mushy rice.

    This rice looks really good, Trisha! For my smaller family, I would halve the recipe, finely dice the onion and pepper, and use canned chicken broth instead of the water and boullion cube...but I always brown my rice as you do!

    Yes I make mine non spicy because of kids and friends. I usually put some chile (salsa) on
    my food anyway.
