Texs Best Ever Brownies Recipe

Texs Best Ever Brownies Recipe
I'm known at work as "Tex". I make these for my co-workers and they never seem to last throughout my shift. There's no need to add a "frosting" to these brownies because they're plenty rich.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter at room temp(use ONLY real butter, no margarine!!)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2oz bittersweet chocolate
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa

Directions
  1. Melt the chocolate and 1/2 cup butter. Let cool.
  2. Cream sugar and 1/2 cup of butter.
  3. Add eggs one at a time until well blended.
  4. Add vanilla and mix for 2 minutes.
  5. Slowly add the cooled chocolate. Mix until blended.
  6. In a small bowl mix flour, salt and cocoa.
  7. Add flour mixture, small amounts at a time, to the sugar mixture until well blended.
  8. Pour into a greased and floured 9x13 pan.
  9. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.( I prefer to judge by the toothpick method or you may end up with "crispy" edges.)

Tex..do you use 2 cups of butter total, or just 1 cup as stated? Half with chocolate, half with sugar? I'm confused by the directions - not that THAT's anything new..lol.

Ooops!! it should be 1 stick(1/2cup) of butter with the sugar and 1 stick (1/2cup) melted with the chocolate....sorry about that

Would love to try your brownie recipe. I had made a new brownie recipe that I had found on the site before Christmas and unfortunately it wasn't the moist, rich brownie I had hoped for. I'll let you know how your brownies are once I make them.
