Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400
  • In mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter with hand mixer until creamy
  • In another mixing bowl, combine flour and salt
  • Slowly add flour to creamed mixture(dough will be stiff)
  • Turn onto floured surface and gently knead 10 times
  • Cover and refrigerate 2 hours
  • Saute onion and garlic in bacon grease until tender
  • Remove from heat, stir in bacon, spinach, cottage cheese, nutmeg, salt and pepper
  • Cool to room temp.
  • On lightly floured surface, roll dough to 1/8 inch thick
  • Cut into 3inch circles
  • Brush edges with egg
  • Put 1 heaping tsp. filling on each circle
  • Fold over and seal edges
  • Prick tops with fork
  • Brush with egg
  • Bake 10-12 minutes or until golden brown
  • Serve with salsa
