Spiced Walnuts Recipe
Let the slow cooker do the work, and you won't have burned nuts!

Ingredients
  • 1 pound walnut halves (pecans can also be used)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon coarse salt

Directions
  1. In a slow cooker, combine all the ingredients except the salt
  2. Cook, uncovered, on high for about 2 hours, or until the nuts are toasted
  3. Stir in the salt
  4. Let cool
  5. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to six weeks
  6. Serve at room temperature
  7. These also make great snacks to put in those Christmas gift baskets.
