Ingredients

How to make it

  • In a Large pot mix the Water (& Chicken Stock), the Red Wine & a couple pinches Salt.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Add the Wild Rice, cover & reduce heat.
  • Cook for 50-60 minutes.
  • When Wild Rice is done, drain it & let it rest for 5 minutes.
  • *****While the Wild Rice is Cooking*****
  • In a skillet, heat Olive Oil
  • Put diced Onions in & allow to become translucent (On High, stirring about 3-5 minutes)
  • Add Garlic (Pan roast the Garlic for about 2-3 minutes)
  • Then put in sliced Mushrooms, Salt, Pepper & Tarragon & stir.
  • Taste after about 5 minutes.
  • Adjust seasoning.
  • Add the chunks of Chicken (Or Left Overs) & stir.
  • Reduce heat & cook until the Meat, Fish or Chicken is warm on the inside.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add the skillet contents to the precooked Wild Red Rice & mix gently.
  • Enjoy with people you like.
  • If there are leftovers (Ha), heat in skillet.
  • The Wild Red Rice will pop & indeed, be red:)

    I have some wild wild rice(uncultivated)that will be great made with this recipe. In Minnesota our wild rice comes in zip-loc bags. But I am sure I can figure it out. Yum.
