How to make it

  • Combine butter, brown sugar, and pecans in a saucepan; cook, stirring until butter and sugar are melted.
  • Spread in the bottom of pie shell. Bake at 425 degrees for 5 minutes, or until bubbly. Cool.
  • Prepare pudding and pie filling mix as directed on package for pie.
  • Pour into shell.
  • Cover with wax paper and chill for 4 hours.
  • Remove wax paper and top with whipped topping.
