Helpful Conversion Tables

- Equivalencies: shopping list
- A few grains = less than 1/16th of a tsp shopping list
- A pinch = less than 1/8th of a tsp shopping list
- ½ tbsp = 1 ½ tsp shopping list
- 1 tbsp = 3 tsp or ½ oz shopping list
- 1/8th cup = 2 tbsp or 1 oz shopping list
- ¼ cup = 4 tbsp or 2 oz shopping list
- 1/3rd cup = 5 tbsp plus 1 tsp shopping list
- 1/2 cup = 8 tbsp or 4 oz shopping list
- 2/3 cup = 10 tbsp plus 2 tsp shopping list
- ¾ cup = 12 tbsp or 6 oz shopping list
- 1 cup = 16 tbsp or 8 oz shopping list
- 2 cups (8 oz) = 1 U.S. pint shopping list
- 2 pints = 1 qt fluid measurement or 4 cups shopping list
- 4 qt = 1 gallon shopping list
- 8 qt (dry) = 1 peck shopping list
- 4 pecks = 1 bushel shopping list
How to make it
- Note:
- Whenever grams are needed for a European recipe, you can easily convert them into ounces by dividing by 31. For example, 500 grams divided by 31 = 16 oz approximately.
