Gaelic Coffee Cake

- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2 1/4 cups Velvet cake and pastry flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp soda shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 cup commercial sour cream shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
How to make it
- Cream sugar and butter until light
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
- Spoon flour into dry measuring cup
- Level off and pour onto waxed paper
- Add baking powder, soda and salt; stir well to blend
- Add blended dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream and vanilla
- Mix until smooth
- Spread in well-greased 9" square pan
- Sprinkle with Cinnamon Nut Topping (recipe to follow)
- Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes.
