Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cream together butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy
  • Blend in flour and salt
  • Wrap dough and chill until cold enough to roll out
  • Roll out to 1/8 inch thickness on confectioners sugar covered board or counter
  • Cut into trapezoid shapes with a sharp knife, making widest end about 2 inches
  • Spread with red jelly or jam (cherry, raspberry, strawberry, currant)
  • Fold over once so that sides meet
  • Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 375 for about 15 minutes
  • Do not brown
  • Dust with confectioners sugar if desired
  • Store air tight and refrigerate, will keep for several days
  • About 4 dz
  • Not good shippers

    I really like these as they are simple and very few ingredients. I haven't made them in decades. Maybe this is the time to make. Will use grape jam for my hubby and berry for me. Will need to double or triple recipe if hubby approves. Was hoping for a picture. At least 4 stars.

    Do you have that photo ready yet?? = ) Seriously, though -- I wonder if the fold goes side to side or top (narrower) to bottom (wider). I would like to make a batch to take to my daughter-in-law's symphony orchestra concert tomorrow afternoon. Thanks!

    A great recipe, Pat! This is the same dough recipe for rugelach, the triangles of dough stuffed with cinnamon,walnuts and raisins. I'm so glad you posted this. Have a lovely holiday and thank you for the recipe.
