How to make it

  • Heat milk, marshmallows and salt in large saucepan over medium low heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until marshmallows are melted. Be careful not to let milk or marshmallows burn.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add chips, 1 bag at a time, stirring briefly between each back.
  • Stir slowly, but firmly, until chocolate is completely melted.
  • Add nuts and vanilla and stir well, to combine.
  • Pour(dump :) mixture into thoroughly buttered and parchment(wax) papered 9X13 glass baking dish or, for thinner fudge, you can use an 11X14 high sided baking sheet, or 2 8X8 or 9X9
  • square cake or glass pans.
  • Cool at least a few hours, then turn over onto clean surface and cut into squares.*
  • *If you're worried about the fudge coming out of the pan, then use the parchment or wax paper, and leave the short sides up over the top of the fudge so you can "lift" it out of the pan. OR, carefully cut one corner, grab hold of the paper, there, and it should pop right out.

I agree this fudge recipe is EASY... It is, in fact, dangerously easy!! And if it is made in a double boiler, I don't think there's any chance of scorching it.
