Olive Bread With Ham Recipe
Greatness in this loaf of bread. This is really good served warm with herb butter over the top. I like this as a main dish with a dinner salad. Yummo

Ingredients
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2-1/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 5 ounces pitted green olives
  • 1-1/4 cup walnut pieces chopped very coarsely
  • 4 ounces ham diced
  • 1-1/4 cups grated gruyere cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Butter a round cake pan or standard loaf pan.
  3. In a large bowl beat eggs with a wire whip until well mixed and foamy.
  4. Add oil, milk and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.
  5. Sift flour and baking powder together.
  6. Gradually add to the egg mixture.
  7. Beat with a spoon until all ingredients are incorporated but do not over mix.
  8. Drain olives well and incorporate into the dough along with the walnuts, ham and grated cheese.
  9. Turn dough into the cake pan.
  10. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes then remove from oven and place on cooling rack for 10 minutes.
  11. Turn loaf out of the pan then slice and serve warm.
