Mamas Hot Water Cornbread Recipe

Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix all ingredients in a bowl
  • Stir ingredients as you gradually add the hot water till dough is stiff
  • Make dough into patties
  • Fry in pre-heated greased cast iron skillet (if possible)
  • Cook until golden brown on both sides

    Try as I may, I could never get the patties to stay together when flipped. Are you sure there isn't supposed to be a binder in there like an egg?

    This would be nice with some maple syrup,fried eggs,and a couple slices of bacon.
