Ingredients

How to make it

  • Place lettuce, onions, chopped eggs (set yolks on side for drippings mix)in a salad bowl; set aside.
  • In a skillet, fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon; set aside, save drippings.
  • In the drippings, combine yolk and all remaining ingredients til well blend and creamy.
  • Immediately pour over salad.
  • Crumble bacon and add to salad; toss well.
  • Serve immediately.

    wow i can't believe my eyes. so growing up we would eat something like this. we would cut up all bacon, cook it, and fish out the bacon pieces. let drippings cool. and apple cider vinager. warm mix up(smells like hell!!). poor acv and bacon drippings mix on lettuce to wilt it. mmmmmmmm no one will eat it but my family

    I was surprised to SEE this one! MY Grandmother would make this.....and this is how she taught me.My hubby will not eat this.......lol......but I make it for my self.......I LOVE this..with some fried or baked chicken......hmmmmmmm GREAT Post....

    Boy does that bring back memories of my childhood - I was raised on this wonderful, tart-sweet wilted lettuce too...my mom grew her own lettuce and would pick and wash it just before we ate it...FANTASTIC salad!
