Brownie Buttons

- 1/4 c plus 2 Tbs. flour shopping list
- pinch of salt shopping list
- 1/2 stick unsalted butter,cut in 4 pieces shopping list
- 2-1/2 ounces bittersweet chocolate,coarsely chopped shopping list
- 1/3 c (packed)lt brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
How to make it
- Center a rack in oven and preheat to 350 degrees. Line mini muffin pan with liners and set aside.
- Whisk together flour and salt.
- Melt butter,chocolate and brown sugar in medium heavy-bottomed saucepan over ver low heat,stirring frequently with a heatproof spatula. When mixture is smooth,remove from the heat and cool a min. or two.
- Stir in vanilla and egg into chocolate mixture. When mixture is well blended,add flour and stir till it is incorporated. You should have a smooth,glossy batter.
- Spoon batter into 12 muffin cups,using about 1-1/2 tsps. of batter to fill each 3/4 full.
- Bake 14-16 mins. or till tops of buttins spring back when touched. Transfer pan to rack to cool for 3 mins before carefully releasing buttons. Cool to room temperature on rack.
- Note:Since these are small,you really need to watch the time. They go from done to overdone in the blink of an eye.
