Taco Salad with Lime Tortilla Chips and Spicy Dressing

I love this salad because you toss the spicy dressing in with all the lettuce, tomatoes, sweet onion, sliced olives, cheddar cheese (do not skimp on cheese) and cucumbers. Cucumbers may sound strange here BUT you get a bite of spicy then you get a bite with cucumber for cool, refreshing. Read more So GOOD! I LOVE this salad! See less
Ingredients
- Dressing: shopping list
- 8 ounces taco sauce, medium to hot shopping list
- 12 ounces salsa, medium to hot shopping list
- 3 T. sour cream shopping list
- 1/2 pkg. hot taco seasoning (you will use the rest further down) shopping list
- SALAD: shopping list
- 1 head lettuce, chopped up shopping list
- 4 diced tomatoes (If using roma tomatoes - Use 6) shopping list
- 1 large sweet onion, diced shopping list
- 1 1/2 pounds lean hamburger, browned, drained and mixed with remaining taco seasoning shopping list
- 12 ounces shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1 medium can sliced olives, drained shopping list
- hot peppers, sliced (your choice) shopping list
- Diced cucumber shopping list
How to make it
- Salad:
- Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Dressing:
- Mix together, add all of dressing mixture to salad, toss salad thoroughly and top with a bag of crushed lime tortilla chips or Frito chips and serve.
