How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400
  • Slice bread in half horizontally and scoop out most of the bread to form a shell
  • Save bread for some other use, like fresh breadcrumbs
  • Saute the mushrooms in a small amount of olive oil until slightly softened
  • Mix butter, mushrooms, cheese, green onions and garlic
  • Spread the mixture on both shells of bread
  • Place bread on baking sheet
  • Bake until cheese has melted about 10 to 15 minutes
  • Cut into wedges and serve

    A nice spring green salad,with a light dressing,and this open face slice would be very nice.
