How to make it

  • Bring syrup to a boil - add 1/2 cup water (Be careful, it will spit)
  • Slice potatoes lengthwise. Place in a single layer in a Pyrex dish. Pour sauce over. Place pecan halves on top of each potato slice.
  • Cook 45 minutes to 1 hour at 400 degrees. Check from time to time to make sure the pecans aren't browning too much.
  • Note: If you slice the potatoes thicker, they will be less sweet. Thinner and they will absorb the syrup more completely.
