My son was going through some of his old school memorabilia and found an apple cookbook that his teacher had made with a recipe from each child's mother or grandmother. The school is Jasper Elementary School in Jasper,TN for the school year 1999-2000... More

Ingredients
- 1 C. sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. apple pie spice
- 1/8 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 C. sugar
- Milk
- 1 1/2 C. Granny Smith apples, peeled cored and chopped
Directions
- Mix dry ingredients and add egg, vanilla and sugar, mix well.
- Add enough milk to make batter about as thick as pancake batter..
- Drop by tablespoonful into hot oil.
- Turn fritters every couple of minutes to brown evenly.
- Cook about 8 or 9 minutes until golden brown.

I'm going to try this recipe out..I watch the Food Network alot, & one time on show "Dinner Impossible" w/Robert Irvine, they made apple fritters in a fry pan, put the apples & cinnamon in, then poured the batter over it. I've tried to locate the recipe thru Food Network w/no results..Anyone try this method?? Mobaby72
